Using the docking handles to manage clips

I'm having my first look at SoundForge and attempting to adjust the clips in the workspace. I have managed to maximise the clips and they are docked, but I cannot undock them. The manual says that I just grab the handle and move it away from the docking area. I can see the handles for Explorer etc, but not for the clips. I'm obviously missing something. Could someone please help?

What version of SF? I am not sure what you mean. Are you referring to an audio file in the timeline, toolbars or Fx plug-in windows. A screenshot or two would likily be helpful.

I'm using SF 11. Like I said, I'm new to SF so I decided to start right at the bottom so I was just looking to manage the components in the workspace. So, I was on page 29 of the manual. I had loaded the voiceover project so that I had something to work with. All was going well, only one window open in the workspace. I double clicked inside on the header of this window to maximise it in the workspace . I wanted to follow this by restore it back to the original size.

I have, since I made this post, looked again at what was being said on page 29 was referring to undocking a window and realised I was wrong in assuming this maximised window was actually docked. So the reference to undocking handles is not relevant.

When I used the interactive help tutorial I could see that restoring the windows was an option in the Windows menu that did the job. I just thought I might be able to deal with this with the maximised window itself. But the window menu was good enough for me.

I would be grateful if you could point me to any tutorial resources you know of relating to the creation of ACID loops (just a thought).

If you are referring to the timeline zoom feature, the mouse wheel zooms in/out horizontally. Vertically, whilst holding the 'Shift' key. The same using the up/down keys. You can create custom keyboard shortcuts in the "Options> Customize keyboard" menu. Customizing the toolbar is in "View> Toolbar> Customize".
