Vegas Pro 17 build 455 - NVENC - Can't read stream

Hi. We are having major issues with this NVENC anomaly. I have read all over the internet about making a change to the template so it can run. The thing is, we activate our templates from a script using the Vegas scripting interface. We need to be able to launch video renders from scripting using a template that evokes NVENC. What is the solution for saving a template that will work with NVENC?

Also, does Vegas 18 have this same anomaly?
