Windows 10, processor Intel Core i5-10400T CPU@2.00GHz. Ram 16.0 GB.

Looking for instructions on how to have pics same size so they fill all the screen. I am trying to use slideshow with short videos included with pics but have not been able to have all same size. Would someone please give set of instructions from the very beginning because of my scant knowledge of subject.

Thanks for any help I can get

Could you please confirm what the program is? Is it Movie Edit Pro?

And also the resolution of your video files eg 1290x1080, 720x576.

My struggle is over! I built my (now) system 2 in 2011 when DV was king and MPEG 2 was just coming onto the scene and I needed a more powerful system to cope. Since then we've advanced to MP4 and to bigger and bigger resolutions. I was really suffering, not so much in editing (with proxies) but in encoding, which just took ages. A video, with Neat Video noise reduction applied, would encode at 12% of film speed. My new system 1 does the same job at 160% of film speed. Marvellous. I'm keeping my old system as a capture station for analogue video tapes and DV.

It is Movie Edit Deluxe Premium 2017.

Mine was a general question in order to have guidelines or instructions, sort of step by step. So please advise me on what resolution my files should be in order to post them on social media, ie FB. My objective is to make slideshows for family and friends and post them either in FB and/or Whatsap.

Thank you very much for answering so quickly. As a side note, let me tell you I live in Lima, Perú and am 80 years old.

Hi José

I would suggest first you look at the requirements for the media sites you wish to post on - eg FB/WhatsApp, Instagram, Youtube, Vimeo.

Do note that Facebook and WhatsApp do have time limits on video.

Importing pictures will be automatically adjusted to fit the project settings, if they are the same Aspect Ratio as the project then they will be full screen, otherwise they will be letter boxed - black bars top and bottom, or pillar boxed - black bars left and right. The only way to fill the screen in these cases is to crop the images eg use Size & Position or the Section effects.

Hi John,

Thank you for your reply and glad to hear from you.

I was able to access only Youtube to see requirements. There are still some problems with whatsap and FB, but I gues the proces is the same with different requirements for each. I will work on doing as you recommend and do some trials using my own FB page and whatsap.

I have tried cropping with size and position and section with mixed results including the use of zoom to achieve results but it has not been completely satisfactory. What about settings in MEP, could this work when exporting?Forgive my ignorance but I have to ask, what precisely is the role of resolution other than the quality of pics? Is it related to aspect ratio? What exactly is the size of the screen? I was wondering if I could sort of expand or contract pics to fit the dimensions of the screen. Does this make any sense?

I really appreciate you help

Best regards

José
