Hi, welcome to the Magix forums.

You wrote that you updated from "version 17" to version 17.0.2.158. Did you actually mean from "MEP 2017" to the latest version, which is actually 17.0.2.159? The naming/numbering system of Magix products can be confusing! Also, please read this post and give us all the information requested there.

The usual method to uninstall any program, including MEP, is to go to Control Panel>Programs and Features, select MEP, right-click and choose the Uninstall option. This may not remove everything, however, in which case please read this tutorial and follow carefully the uninstallation process detailed there. This will remove everything connected with MEP and, if you have any, could affect other Magix programs so proceed slowly and carefully!

To reinstall, depending on what the uninstall process removes, you may need to first install your original version of MEP and then update, or, assuming you have your existing product key available (and the update service is still current, i.e. you are eligible to update either because you have "bought" the latest version or it is less than a year since you bought and installed the earlier version) that product key should be still valid in order to register the new version. If you are installing without the earlier version you will need to find, download and install the "Trial version" installer from here and then use your existing product key to register it.

However, whichever route is necessary for you to follow to reinstall the latest version, when the initial splash screen appears, make sure you read it very carefully.  On of the available options there is to select where you want the program to be installed or to accept the default location. There is where you should enter your choice, in your case your G:\ drive.

Hi

. . . . The update installed itself on my C drive, which is overloaded . . . .

I assume that this is a SSD drive or a small hard drive?

Assuming Windows is a default installation on drive c: and your user profile is using the default settings, then the updater must have space on drive c: to extract the update to and run from. MEP itself will have installed some components to the c: drive irrespective of which drive the main installation is on.

Thank you for the response. The version that I had was MEP 17 Plus . I updated this to 17.0.2.128.(UDP3) The reason I want to uninstall is not only the disk space problem (small SSD) but also the fact that I cannot update the version because it cannot find [PersonalFolder] MAGIX\videodelux 2018 Plus\

I can uninstall the 2018 version and I have the disk for the MEP 17 Plus. Next question - do I have to deregister the 2018 version before uninstalling?
