Video & audio not in sync after stopping and restarting the clip on the timeline

Can you please help . I have a problem using my recent purchase of Magix Movie.  Stopping and starting with the curser on the timeline causes video and audio to go out of sync.
I did an experiment by making a short video clip using my Sony camcorder of me counting from 1 to 10 so I would see the lip sync easily.  I put the clip on the timeline , pressed spacebar , and the video played perfectly from start to finish and lip sync was perfect.
But, when I stop the transport curser at various points in the video using J K and L keys, the video is not in sync with the audio when play continues.  The video ends before the audio .  A 16% error is noticable.  So a 60 second video ends 10 seconds before the audio.  This is preventing me from progressing with editing my project.        Does anyone have a solution.     Thanks,  John

( I have a good computer spec for Magix , but I am using a Focusrite Saffire 6 usb external audio interface  that I use with my Cubase 5 Advanced Music Software.  )

Hi John

From PM

. . . . I have tried all settings on the Sony SR210E and I end up with the same result.  Out of sync.

I am having difficulty in finding the version of my new software and have sent a message to Magix to see if I can get the most recent update.  . . . .

The file format of from this camera is mpeg2 - this particular file format can exhibit sync problems in MEP

Right click the video clips on the timeline and select Create (new) frame table - this should fix the problem.

The software version is under Help About Magix . . .

HTH

John
