I have Magix Pro 7 Installed as well and I can see the video and run the video with no problem. i have screen shots attached notice that the video is recognized in pro 7 version. I tried changing the Compatibilty seeting but that did not work. any suggestions would be appreciated.. Tom

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

This is almost certainly a codec problem! It seems there is one which is needed by this footage which is accessible to VPX7 but not to VPX? (which version do you now have?). The current latest is VPX 12.

Please download and install the free MediaInfo utility point it to the problem file and post here the results of the Text view. We can then see exactly what codecs it uses and therefore needs.

Edit: with apologies, I see you told us which version of VPX in your thread title!

Hi

In addition to @emmrecs comment - according to the MSI specs for the GP70 2QE laptop the processor is a 4th generation Intel i5 or i7 processor - which one is installed in your laptop?

Can you post a screen shots of the Display and Import/Export tabs in Program settings.

@emmrecs  and @johnebaker Thanks Guys for the quick follow up. My laptop has the Intel I5 -4210H cpu. The first two snapshots are from the Display and import/export screens. The third is the data from the mediaInfo for the clip. and the last thing is That when i try to play and of the supplied templates The same thing happens I get the sound but not the video..the last snapshot is from the intro/outro templates that i am trying to review..

Also - I did change the video mode to Compatability mode for windows and still did the same thing

Thanks again Guys.

With the MediaInfo image you need to use the view tab and copy the information from the text view.

@tjbaxt_1999

Hi

There appears to be something wrong with the file that you have analysed - the file size is only 160 Bytes which is impossible for what is shown in the image of the timeline, and appears to have come from VLC - check that you have analysed the correct file and as @CubeAce has commented, post the results from the Text view of MediaInfo

Try turning off the 2 Hardware acceleration options in the Import/Export tab, and if there is an option to use the Intel HD4600 integrated GPU in the Display options tab, Preview in arranger box, select this.

Do you have Quicktime installed?
