video stuttering

Any help? used 2014 in the past came to edit some 4k clips and the preview screen freezes jumps etc so bought 2016 edition,the same ,I know its not my laptop as it works in other video editing programs,is it just Movie Edit Pro software?Laptop spec is

Intel core i5-5200u

Geforce840m with 2 GB dedicated VRAM

8GB DDR3 memory

On other programs you can lower the res of the clip when pre viewing but on Magix software I can not find any where to do this.

In the video player, bottom right, there is a square button with a lightning symbol on it. Left click it to activate. Right click it to choose what you want to inhibit for smoother playback.

Welcome to the forum.

Your dual core CPU is well below the Magix recommended minimum spec. for 4K and even HD, so not ideal for the task. You can either create and use proxy files if you have the Plus or Premium version, or try just clicking the "Lightning Bolt" button at the bottom right of the preview monitor so that it turns blue, after checking with a Rt.Click that the "Reduce Resolution" option is ticked.

Think from the following message my laptop is not up to spec,that will please the wife,new laptop time,have got a full on gaming computer in the loft I could try it on.
