VITA cannot be loaded as too little RAM available

tompbrynolf wrote on 3/21/2013, 9:38 AM

Just returned to my Music Maker 2013 which was previously fine. Now have message saying that VST plugin VITA cannot be loaded as potentially too little RAM available. Also the soundpools are empty.

As I'm not running anything else i'm not sure what's changed. Shall I re-install Music Maker?

Thanks.

Hi

Try resetting the program to its default settings first - File, Settings, Reset program settings to default  - re-installing should be a last resort option.

Also under the Program settings, General tab you can reset the soundpools if they are messed up.

hello

i have encountered the same problem. and resetting the program didnt help me.

it started out as the message attached here. i then started out with closing alot of the startup programs on my computer. then the ram % went up to 70%. still not enough.

i have to add that my computer has installed 6gb of ram. still, im told the computer really dosnt use more than 4(?) anyways, it should be more than enough right?

i use OS wind 7 home premium.

Please help:(

Hi

. . . . still, im told the computer really dosnt use more than 4(?)  . . . .

That is correct for 32 bit Windows which can only use ~ 4GB of memory so the other 2GB goes to waste.

The problem with out of memory errors is actually locating what is causing the memory to be used up - 4GB is plenty to run Music Maker and load the VITA plugins.

What anti-virus program are you using?

You an use Task Manager to see how much memory the various processes are using. The two imagesbelow show mu computer memory usage without Music Maker running and with and Vita open.

Note the small increase in memory usage (~6%) when MMM is running.  My Anti-virus uses 2296 KB of memory and is well down the list.

Hi,

I was getting the same error after I moved folders from my C to my D: drive to save space.  Turns out one of the folders had to stay on the C drive because of the initial installation.

The folder in question is "MxSynth".  Make sure you have it under "C:\Users\Public\DocumentsMAGIX\Common".

Note that I use Windows 7 64 bit so the path may be different if you have Windows XP.

Hope this can help.
