Volume envelope process selection

Hi all, I'm using SFP14 on PC.

In SFP10, I used to be able to press 'V' to see the Volume envelope, add points, adjust points, make a Selection, and then Process the selection area. I can't seem to find the Process button, which is a showstopper for me. How do I perform this now?

The Volume automation process opens in the plug-in chainer. Make sure it is not hidden.

Starting with SF Pro 11, SCS (Sony) changed the plug-in chainer to modal, so in the typical timeline config, plug-in automation is not possible. To execute the process you now must Save or Save as the file,.. Another option is to, save as a SF Project file <.frg> and Render as after editing, The SF project file mode is non-destructive..
You can however select in "Fx Favorites> Apply plug-in chain" prior, which will have the 'Process' button like Pro-10 and prior... Unfortunately, volume and other plug-in automation envelopes are not available in this mode.

<rant> I was on the SCS (Sony) beta test team for SF Pro 11 and objected to this and the Record UI change, Sony paid no attention to me or the other members who questioned these counter-productive (IMO) and confusing changes.</end rant>

Does anyone know if this functionality has returned to SF15? It's a deal breaker for me.

It works the same as in SF Pro 11, 12, 13 and 14: "Insert> Volume envelope" or the keyboard shortcut (V). The volume 'envelope' never was an option to apply destructively in 'Fx Favorites' or 'Fx Favorites> Apply plug-in chain' modes, going back to Pro 11 when the 'modal' chainer was introduced.

Thanks, rraud. I completely regret upgrading past SF10, but it wouldn't install on my latest Windows 10 machine. This functionality is one of the MAIN reasons I used SF10 (that, and the scripting API). It's a shame. And looking at all the posts in this forum, there are a TON of issues with SF in general. How can they possibly release new versions (SF15) without fixing current issues first? It's baffling.

SF 10 and many other legacy versions run just fine on 64 bit Win 10. Though there cna be is an intermittent issue on some PCs with SF-10 after 'some' Microsoft Win 10 updates. That require a registry tweak or running SF-10 as an administrator.. a minor annoyance IMO, otherwise no problems. I have personally tested SF Pro 8, 9, 10 and 11. I keep SF Pro 10 installed and use that occasionally for the legacy chainer and record UI. FWIW, Magix has brought back the 'Remote record' mode in Pro 15 which worked good in my tests.

If you can install but not 'activate' SF-10, you must use the same email address that was used when SF-10 was originally registered with SCS (Sony).
