I have Movie Edit Pro 17 Plus. When I hover the mouse over the volume curve..is there any way to tell what its current level is BEFORE I start to adjust it? Same question for Volume set level in an object.
Thanks John. The trouble is I want to accurately measure that the various markers I make on a volume curve match up level wise..eg. if I want the music to dip down and then come up to the exactly the same level as before. At the moment i use the levels on the CPU numbers in the bottom left hand corner. It works....but it is a very clumsy way of doing it. Pity the software guys can't come up with a better solution.
You say "...if I want the music to dip down and then come up to the exactly the same level as before.", then I suggest you create your 'equal level' markers at the sides first (1 & 2 below), and then drop the level in between.
Note also that though the volume curve gets a special right click menu entry point, it is a standard key frame animation so the numerical values are available in the Effects >> 'Audio effects' >> 'General' window.
Hi. Thank you all for your help. I suppose the problem is that with another editing system I had before, when you hovered over a "rubberband" (as it was called) line...it showed what the levl was currently at eg. 0db, -4bd etc etc so that you could work out how it compared with other levels on the timeline. You have to put a marker on the volume curve before you see what level it is at....and even then it is not in "db" levels. Also the volume curve is not over the whole track...only each indivdual object...so that you have to go through and adjust each object volume curve...very painstaking. An overall volume curve would be useful.
