VPX/MEP - effect to handle video filmed in portrait mode

browj2 wrote on 6/10/2017, 10:07 AM

Hi,

Was I dreaming or was there not a new feature advertised for MEP 2017 a while back that would take a video shot in portrait mode, copy it to another track, and resize the one on track one to full screen and blur it. Aha, I found it in the new features of MEP2017 on Magix.com, under November 2016 new features, called:

Attractive video border effects    From now on you can use the portrait format recordings from your smartphone without compromising your video's look. The new image border effects ensure perfect integration.

I am trying to find this in VPX as all effects from MEP should now be there, except for what came out in the last week. Can someone point me to this, at least in MEP? I realize that it is easy to do, just wondering where this effect is.

Thanks,

John CB

Hi John CB

. . . . I am trying to find this in VPX as all effects from MEP should now be there . . .

AFAICS they are unique to MEP Premium - ie I cannot find where these effects are stored, however they are not in the common folder in ProgramData that MEP, MMM, VPX etc use.

Hi John EB,

Thanks for the information. The effects did not make it into VPX. Judging from your image, it would be better with a black background or something homemade.

I would agree with you - the only one that, IMO, gives a reasonable effect is the Soft focus series , however they would be better if they were static and not animated pans.
