VPX11 Export problems with mxv file on the timeline

VPX11 17.0.2.41

Exporting to mxv (1920x1080, 29.97fps) caused a crash at about 36s into a 15 minute project. I was able to export everything after this point and even successfully exported starting from about 20s in to about 50s from the start. I tried narrowing down the problem by removing video clips around the 36s point and replacing them with a simple photo. No success. I then narrowed it down to the first clip on the timeline, an mxv file created in a separate project from 450 Google Earth Studio images set at 1 frame each. The clip was about 15s long. Exchanging this clip for a photo worked, so I concluded that something was wrong with the mxv file.

I redid the mxv in a separate project, but added in about 4s by repeating the last x frames where there was no movement. I also exported this to mp4. I exchanged the mxv file in the main project and it still crashed at the same point. I exchanged the mxv file for the mp4 file and it worked. This is rather disconcerting as I would not expect an mxv file to cause a crash during export, or if it did, I would expect the crash to be within the limits of the mxv file, not 20s later.

Has anyone experienced problems with mxv files like this?

Update: I tried the offending clip in a new project and added a bunch of photos after it. Successfully exported to mxv about 50s.

I tried adding the same title as in the original movie, Captions basic, Sugared left, and the program crashed. Reopened it and successfully added the title and exported.

So, I don't know what caused the problem in the original project.
