VPX9 - No audio after using Solo

browj2 wrote on 12/17/2017, 3:07 PM

VPX 15.0.5.195

I have audio on several tracks (nothing but audio on these tracks). I put on Solo on a track, played an audio clip, removed the S and pressed play - no audio. I tried giving several track S in the Mixer, all worked. Removed S, no sound. I saved, exited VPX, re-opened it and my project - no audio with S. I copied an audio clip to another movie, it worked. I copied everything to a new movie; it worked. I tried the same thing - S on a track then off, audio still worked. My movie became corrupt as far as I can tell.

Can someone check this please. I believe that I saw something similar on the French forum, not sure if it was for VPX or MEP.

Thanks,

John CB

Hi John CB

Cannot replicate here in VPX or MEP, everything works as it should.

What format are the audio files?

I tested with a mixture of ogg, wav and mp3 files and am using the PC's internal Realtek HDA audio.

Hi John EB,

Thanks for taking a look. The movie was corrupt and copy/paste to a new movie solved this particular problem.

However, I had other problems, like the one that I mentioned about exporting with masks not working properly and then I had two new ones, another export worked fine on the masks except the first one, and the last video clip, way down on track 35 or 36 was black. The sound was fine. I moved it up a track and it exported ok. But, the titles showed up in black boxes. In the next export, they were ok. Most annoying.

Now I see that there is a new patch that looks like it addresses my problems:

Changes in version 15.0.5.211:

* Multi-track performance improved
* More audio effects can now be copied
* Fixed transparency issue on older computers (title, chroma key)
* Fixed error where only some objects were copied by duplicating (D key)
* Fixed errors in transitions and collages
* Fixed flickering issue in hardware-accelerated slow or fast motion
* Fixed crash/hang that occasionally occurred with JPG files
* Fixed mixing errors in titles, transitions and images with alpha objects
* Fixed error that resulted in an effect being applied outside of borders
