All three are valid solutions.

I recommend uninstalling with the programs uninstall, but make sure that any of the data you have that you want to save is backup or out of the Movie Edit Pro directory so it is not lost on the uninstall.

I recently moved up from 14 to Movie Edit Pro 15+ but have now got a new laptop running win 7  The problem I have is not loading the prog, but in getting the program to 'find' the burner on the laptop. I've set the security to give me full access etc. but it just wont find let alone recognize the Pioneer CD/DVD WR

Has anyone out there got a simple solution? I do recall experiencing a similar problem some years ago with the other laptop, and wish i'd written down the instructions to get past the problem.   I'd greatly appreciate any advice, thanx for ur time, Babz

I am not sure that Movie Edit Pro 15 is Windows 7 compatible. It might work, but the code used in that program was written well before Microsoft released Windows 7.

Regardless, I would make sure that you have the latest driver info for both the program and the burner. If you login to the Magix support page...

And also make sure you have the latest firmware for the burner itself from that manufacture.
