What is the difference between Magix Vegas Pro and Magix Video Editing

What is the difference between Magix Vegas Pro and Magix Video Editing? I have Magix Vegas Pro 19. Today I got an email from Magix offering a program called Magix Video Editing....which has a lower price point. What's the difference? Does Video Editing have something that Vegas Pro does not?

@Robert-Lyons-48 I don't know about about "Magix Video Editing" but Magix basically sells two different video editing softwares: Vegas and Video Deluxe.

Vegas was originally developed by Sonic Foundry and later sold by Sony. Sony ended funding for the development of Vegas and Magix bought Vegas from them because Vegas has a pretty large international user base.

Video Deluxe, on the other hand, is Magix' own video editing software they started developing around the year 2000. They later introduced a version with more professional features called Video Pro X. Video Deluxe has a pretty large user base in German speaking countries in central Europe. That's why they didn't stop selling it after acquiring Vegas.

If you already have one you technically don't need the other software.

Apart from the differences that @SP. has mentioned, the programs are tiered according to price so the higher the price the more functions that program tends to have. Also projects made in Vegas software are not really transferable across to Magix Movie Studio or Video Pro X.

The timelines and workflows are also very different.

What has changed a lot in all the programs is the introduction of AI which has added additional features but the computer specs needed to implement them smoothly into the workflow had also gone up somewhat and personally I would think twice before considering any upgrade and read the recommended specifications carefully to see if any functions could be hindered by your current computer.
