I just bought a movie studio platinum 2022. When I try to activate using the serial number, I get dashes automatically at the wrong spots and I can't type my full code.
I tried copying and pasting directly from the code received by email. The same problem. The activation code starts with 2 digits followed by a dash. When pasting or typing the code, the dash appears after the first digit. So rather than looking like this:
30-
It looks like this:
3-0
The same is repeated for all dashes.
Furthermore, the dashes seem to count as digits, so when I past the code, it stops before all the digits are entered.
OK, I just realized I was trying to activate using the order number😬. Thanks to all who responded, you guys are awesome😊.

With any any Magix product I have ever purchased, I have always copied the entire code from the email, starting from the first 2 characters (in the case of Movie Edit pro, P3)
I have then pasted that serial number it in the activation dialogue box that appears upon starting the purchased program.
This has been the case for over a decade and it has always entered and activated corrected from that paste.
Maybe after you have copied the serial, open up a text editor and paste the copied serial in there, just to make sure that what is in the clipboard is actually the serial.
