When I import a wav file and put it in the timeline I can't hear it on playback (Movie Edit Pro MX)

We did the import of the wav file directly into the MEP (it was an audio naration), but when we push play in the timeline mode, we can't here anything and therefore can't edit our picture clips to align with the audio.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Using version 11.0.6.0

Thanks Terry.  All the basic checks come out ok.

1. No, not muted

2. Sound not muted

3. volume not reduced

4. wave file works in other players

What i have discovered is that if I open up a new project and redo all the steps, it works properly.  It feels very much like a bug.

So, my project is back on track (except for a crash issue which i am now dealing with), so I think we are ok on this point.  Now if i can just keep this program from crashing every few minutes.

Pleased to hear it's sorted, albeit with the cause still a puzzle.

Could have been the first project being (or becoming) corrupted in some way. I've had many such issues over the years, some ultimately identified as obscure bugs, others (the majority) unresolved. For example, I still have a project whose timeline contains only video, yet plays an Abba track - sort of the reverse of your problem!
