When I want to move a clip, every clip after it moves with it

I am using Movie Edit Pro 2013 Premium. Version 12.

I have a bunch of clips with audio laid (layed?) down.  I am now going back and putting some different video over it. When I add a clip to make it on top, it is fine.  However, when I try to slide it over a bit, thats when I am having trouble.  The clip I want to move is highlighted yellow and nothing else is, but when I click on it, every clip that comes after it (including clips on different tracks) becoming highlighted yellow and move with the clip.  How can I stop this?

Also, this is a completely different question but I dont feel like starting a new thread and I am not too worried about it, but sometimes when I am editing in the middle of my project and click spacebar to play from where I just edited, it starts all the way at the beginning.  The orange line is where I want it to start but it starts from the beginning.  Anyone know why? It may just be because the program is a little overloaded with clips and I have an older computer.

Thanks anyone and everyone for their input!

Hi

You have your mouse set to All tracks mode when you need Single object mode to move a single clip or object - click the button shown below and select Object or switch between the two modes using the number keys  6  for Single object mode or 7 for All tracks mode.

The spacebar issue is a long ongoing intermittent problem and has happened in every version I have had since MEP 15 - annoying at times.
