When screen captureing games all i get is desktop..no game footage..just sound.

When useing my Movie Edit pro 2013 premium

I start up screen capture then i start up a game (DayZ) but all i get recorded is the desktop, i do get the sound of the game however.

I have a Geforce GT 620

Total Graphics 4095mb

Dedicated Graphice 2048

Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit

intel core i7 3.40Ghz

12g Ram

Hi

This is probably because the game is not using a video mode which MEP can screen capture from.

If the game will let you change the video mode eg DirectX, Overlay etc then try changing these to see if you can capture.

Most gamers capture games footage using third party software specifically designed to do this.

However there is of course the small question of Copyright - many games have protection built in to prevent recording / capture of game footage or specifically ban capture in the licence agreement..
