When will Nvidia Hardware Encoding Be Fixed in Video Deluxe 2026 Plus

Since the 590 series of nvidia drivers, hardware encoding has been broken on Video Deluxe Plus. I upgraded from 2025 to 2026, hoping that over a month was enough to fix the issue at least on the latest version of the program, but I'm disappointed to see that was not the case.

Nvidia has changed the API, requiring software developers to make the changes described in the post below.

https://docs.nvidia.com/video-technologies/video-codec-sdk/13.0/nvenc-preset-migration-guide/index.html

From this post in support, it seems Magix is at least aware of the problem, mentioning that a fix is being investigated, but I wonder if there's any ETA.

https://www.magix.info/us/support?question=466428&category=168279&title=why-is-there-suddenly-a-fallback-to-the-cpu-for-hardware-accelerated-exports-via-the-nvidia-graphics-card

I am aware that rolling back to older Nvidia drivers helps, but having to use one driver to record gameplay and a different one to encode the videos is ****** hindering awkward.

So, could anyone please let me know if there's any ETA for a fix from Magix? I really would rather not have to switch to a different program.

Thank you.

@Giuseppe-Nelva This problem applies to many softwares and not just video editors. Really it's a Nvidia problem. This thread refers https://www.magix.info/us/forum/beware-latest-nvidia-gtx-591-44-drivers--1350824/ From me-again's comments near the end it would appear Nvidia are starting to appreciate they have created a problem.

Whilst software producers, such as Magix, can reasonably be expected to have the API modified in current versions you can hardly expect them to go back and rectify the problem in older versions.

As for when Magix will fix the problem for current versions only they can answer that. It has been fixed in the latest Vegas Pro 23 release so maybe other Magix products are not far behind being attended to.

I'm aware that only Magix can answer the question, which is why I asked in their forums.

I'm also aware I shouldn't expect them to fix 2025 (although I know for a fact that many still use it), which is why I bit the bullet and upgraded to 2026.

On the other hand, I'm not really interested in whether "it's Nvidia's problem." The fact that they released a new driver at CES that doesn't change this means that they likely will not.

Many software developers have acted in a timely manner and fixed the issue. Magix itself did with Vegas Pro 23, so I'm simply asking when they think they'll have a fix for the program I purchased. That's really the only thing I care about here.

@Giuseppe-Nelva

Hi.

There is little to no interaction between Magix staff and any of the members here and I doubt anyone here, including the moderators, knows the answer to your question.

Personally, it feels like the whole Windows / pc platform is falling apart.

Ray.
