I see that 1920 x 1080i (not p) is available in the template manager in various frame rates, but not the extremely common 1920 x 1080p (not i) at 29.97. Does anyone know why this is? Just curious as it seems like a rather large oversight.
Although this is not a format/frame rate which I need to use, I do see your point of wondering why it is not there.
However, (and I have not had opportunity to check that this works, because I do not have any suitable files, but MEP "accepts" this setting); when you start a new project and are given the option to choose your movie settings, if you scroll to the very end of the list of options you will see "User-defined (opens Movie settings)". Select this one and the timeline will open along with that movie settings screen. See my suggested "alterations" below to that screen:
Manually setting the format/frame rate is no big deal (I figured it out pretty easily). I just thought it was odd that this is not one of the default templates considering how extremely common the format is. Easy to add in any case.
