Which effects can and which can't be animated?

I'm confused! I'm using Video Pro X (v15.0.5.211) on a PC running Windows 10 and with a i7-7700 CPU and Geforce 1070 and can't set keyframes for quite a few effects (like Brightness/Contrast !!!). Now I'm a) wondering why and b) if somebody compiled a list telling people like me, which effects can and which can't be animated with keyframes.

Hi,

You must be doing something wrong. Almost all effects can be keyframed. The one exception that comes to mind is Section.

To keyframe brightness, you have to move the slider so that Brightness shows up in the kf area. Then set a kf. Then adjust the slider, add kf's, move them etc.

Thanks browj2! .. But, when using the Brightness slider, keyframes are being set, but when using the gradation curve/Activate Luminance, they don't. And I'm much more interested in e.g. "Art filter - substitution", which I can't use on it's own. (I can't get kf in the Palette timeline, while It's no problem to animate Erosion (Erosion timeline).
