Hi,

I have an old concermate- 1000 keyboard and have just downloaded the trial version of magix music maker 2013.

I am able to use this keyboard as an external midi device to record with the piano in the music maker.

I would like to know what version of music maker would be best to purchase for the following:

1) Other then piano, to be able to use instruments such as strings , guitar, and various others , offered in the program music maker.

Doing so using the external midi keyboard I currently have as the controller  for recording.

In addition to this I would like to hear the instrument being played as it is being recorded.

2) Making beats using the same above method with the external midi keyboard.

I don’t want anyone try to convince me to buy the Music maker control 2013 with the USB Keyboard as it is a little bit out of my budget. I would like to use the equipment I already have to save money.

However If it would be the case that music maker control 2013 with the usb keyboard  can do all of the above which I require . I would like to know whether or not it would be worth looking into as I don’t want to waste my money if it can’t offer such features.

Thank you

You have 30 days in which to educate yourself, using on-line tutorials, Help manuals included with your download, and this User forum.  Everything you want to do  is doable with what you now have.  HIt the "P" butaton on your keyboard of your computer after you have started MM2013.  Start settting up your program to get it to run the way you want.  You go, girl !!!

The simple answer is to purchase the most recent version of MAGIX Music Maker PREMIUM, which is currently MMM Premium 2013. Why?  Because the Premium version offers the most features i.e. larger soundpool, more VSTi's, etc.  The vast majority of people who purchase the Basic version are invariably disappointed.

Since you already have a keyboard that can act as a MIDI controller, you do not need to purchase the version that comes with the USB keyboard.

Sorry, I can't help you with hearing the instrument as it's played.  I haven't yet had the problem, and no one has ever come back here to explain how they resolved the problem.

Be aware that people who have installed the trial versions on their computers often have problems installing the full version after they've purchased it, especially the download.  It is necessary to remove ALL remnants of the trial version befrore installing the purchased version.  The topic has been covered many times before and can be found with a simple search of this website.
