watsonpatric24,

First and foremost, this is a cooperative support group of Magix software users -- not a company sales department. Users, and not just the new ones, can have problems (and creative challenges) which get discussed and most often solved. To say nothing of the various hints and tips that are shared here. It's near impossible to offer you any suggestion or help at all as you have not even indicated which particular program you have found so lacking. You say all you got was 'Photo Manager' and then go on to describe it as '...skipping' which sounds more like a video editor preview issue. Several points:

  • 'Ultimate 12' is As far as I can determine is a product from Pinnacle Studio. If you mean Magix Movie Edit Pro 12 then you have a version that is about five years out of date.
  • Did you first try the free download to see if it met your needs?
  • Did you purchase the product from Magix or a third party like Amazon or e-Bay? They often sell discounted older versions (eg MEP 12) which are less likely to perform as well as the latest.
  • You say your work was '...skipping and terrible'. If this is a video editing project what file format are you importing? Often a simple change in program settings can dramatically improve performance with the newer highly compressed stuff.
  • What are the specs of your 'brand new' computer? I wouldn't even attempt to run (any) video editor on my brand new Acer tablet PC with its limited RAM etc. Even choice of graphics card can influence performance.

If you would go to 'Help' at the top menu and then to 'About MAGIX ...' you can tell us exactly what program you are trying to use eg mine is Movie Edit Pro 2014 version 13.0.1.4. The internal version number is useful to know if you have the latest update installed.

Regards,

Carl

Hi

This is the second post you have made denigrating Magix software, yet you from what you have posted there is no mention of Magix.

In addition to Carls comments - if you have just bought Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 12 then you have purchased software which is 5 years old .  if you purchased Movie Edit Pro 12 then the software is 12 years old and definitely will not work on a modern PC

. . . . so dont try to say it was my mistakes . . . .

Either way you made the decision to purchase old software to run on a modern PC.

John
