why do it sound like there is an echo when recording

i just purchased magix. pluged input into the mic line to record. worked fine until i play it back. it sounds like everything han an echo and distortion

What did you plug into the mic socket?

The distortion would suggest the signal level was too high. The echo could depend on your sound card settings.

Come back with more details of what you did and subsequent actions in Music Maker.
