I have Movie edit Pro and I have created a slide show using the wizard. It is 27 min long. When I try to create an output file in MPEG format it rakes 5 hours (or more3). Am I doing something wrong?
Computer specification - include processor make/model, amount of RAM, hard drive(s) size and free space, graphics card or chipset, if using an external hard drive or other device for the source files
Video format on the timeline, export settings used, - a screen shot of the timeline would also show us the complexity of the project.
The specs for the PC with Windows 10, suggest that the PC is under spec for running Movie Edit Pro hence the long rendering time.
What is the available free space and size of the hard drive and which version of Movie Edit Pro, full name and version number as detailed under Help, About . . . are you running?
Do you have Hardware Acceleration turned on in the program settings?

Because my MEP Plus 2016 is suddenly informing me that Hardware Acceleration has been disabled, I have been looking for info and have learned that Win10 does not HAVE Hardware Acceleration. In an attempt to find an answer in the forum, I searched with "Hardware Acceleration" and just found your post. Now I am confused by your answer. (and Windows tells me display drivers are up to date).
You really should have posted this question to a new thread.
I'm sure John will reply to your post but HWA is available on a suitable machine under Windows 10; I use HWA on my Win 10 computer when it is appropriate to do so!
However, as in the case of ken-beecher, your computer spec is barely high enough to be able to run MEP, especially your CPU, sorry.
As Jeff has said your PC will run MEP, however the Display Adaptor Intel(R) Q45/Q43 Express Chipset does not support Hardware Acceleration (HWA).
I am guessing, and correct me if I am wrong, that when you read the line - 'Do you have Hardware Acceleration turned on in the program settings?' - this is the first time you have seen the Hardware Acceleration option.
If you are also working with HD, Full HD or 4K video then you need, as a minimum, an Intel i5 generation 4 quad core processor with HD4600 integrated graphics chip or a quad core processor and compatible AMD or NVidia graphics card - however be aware of compatibility issues surrounding newer versions of NVidia cards which not longer support the CUDA technology in the drivers for HWA.
Thank you for this information. I have, however, found and changed the setting that was discussed that is directly in MEP. I didn't even know that existed, so thank you for that! At least I don't keep getting that message that HWA is turned off. I'm afraid a new PC isn't yet in the cards. 😩 This one is recent, but is a "refurbished" model, which accounts for the older chip model. But thank you both for the information. I've learned something.
