Why has my video, sound delay?

Christoffer wrote on 11/26/2010, 11:23 AM

I am editing a video in MEP17, but i am getting sound delay.

First i thought that the mixed videofile would be ok, but it wasn't. Sound delay in that finished file too.

There is no delay at all in the begining of the video, but in the end of the video there's a sound delay of almost a whole second! So the delay gets worse the longer you play the video. The imported videofile was a .mod file.

What am i supposed to do? Please help!

HEY EVERYONE who has audio synch issues !!!

I have found the solution to Video/Audio Synch issues (with AVCHD files in my case) and it was in Movie Edit pro ALL THE TIME !!! (and I cannot find it in any other comparable program)

From what I understand AVCHD with Dolby Digital regularly has slight audio delays due to the different packet lengths of the different data streams. When you add several files together, this adds together the audio delays and thus presents the Audio Synch issue.

The FIX :)

All you have to do is highlight ALL the video/audio files you are working with (select all) and then right click on one of the files and select RECREATE FRAME TABLE
This adds a file to each video/audio file which allows movie edit pro to allow for the audio delay and FIX THE PROBLEM.

Ive been working on 6 different video editing programs and Movie Edit pro is the ONLY one that fixes this common issue in the editing software :)
The only issue is that it is NOT mentioned in the manual and Magix should be spanked for not accnowledging this FANTASTIC and VITAL feature.
I spend the better half of 2 months on this issue and I have edited 47GB of Hidef with Dolby 5.1 and can assure everyone that it works !! Data from a Sony camera at 24Mbps

Strong suggestion for anyone using 24Mbps hidef - DONT - go back to 17Mbps (there is absolutely NO difference in quality and it messes with most editing programs (except Movie Edit Pro))
