Why is it that audio (music) can still be heard when the space at timeline shows that it is "blank" ?

Hi,

If its not some basic mistake you've made, such as with the combined video/audio track (it's impossible to say without more detail or a much clearer screenshot) then it's possibly the 'ghost audio' bug I've described in several posts. For example:

http://www.magix.info/uk/mep2013-invisible-track-contents.forum.878638.html

I'm not hopeful, but if you haven't already done so you could try

1. Saving the project with a new name and restarting.

2. Copy/pasting to a new movie added with File > Manage movies

3. Calling your local exorcist!

Thanks Terry.

I may not had explained clearly, earlier. I had not imported any audio files, all files were video. The problem is that only the audio can be heard at the 'blank' space and no pictures seen on the screen when the audio is heard. And all attempts to the delete the 'blank' location where the audio was experienced was to no avail.

hope these pictures on dropout are better !

The duly edited link

Is also invalid.

Copy/pasting works fine here. But the site does seem very slow to me at present.

Hi

Copying and pasting is possible however you must use Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V to do this - right click copy and paste does not work in some browsers and certainly Firefox gives you a warning for the forum site.

Have you looked on the lower tracks to see if there is a stray audio object ?

Hi

. . . . and collectivelly tried to delete the 'blank' trouble space but that too does not work ! . . .

That may indicate that you do have a stray object at the end of the timeline.

Use Ctrl + A to select all the objects on the timeline, then press the End key - this will take you the very end of the timeline where an object is present, then scroll down the tracks all the way to the bottom to see if their is a stray object - it should be clearly visible when selected.

To get rid of all the blank space after the last object in the top tracks are you using this method?

Then press Alt + Del.

Thank You very much JOHN it worked - no more unwanted audio.

Just curious, do you know why the stray object at the end of thetimeline was not visible and even after deleting all the columns, it did not work - the audio was not removed ? Also, i did not import just audio but video but no pictures were visible just audio, please?

cheers,

There was a discussion on the forum about this very topic a while ago - where when deleting an object it 'disappeared' from the timeline, as you would expect, except that the audio part for left behindwas left behind and became invisible - IIRC this was caused by two objects occupying the same section on the same track and when you deleted one the other also 'disappeared'.

Thanks John.

Your method worked but it seems MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 2013 Plus and its earlier version has this technical glitch which magix seems not to do anything about !

Some time ago when i experienced the same with MAGIX Movie Edit Pro MX, was told by magix technical chaps that i had not done / followed the proper procedures for objects deletion and had to redo the whole project.
