Why is my computer fan noisy?

Former user wrote on 5/27/2013, 7:08 AM

After careful debate about a pc upgrade i decided to upgrade.

my last pc was ok but just a little slow for music maker so i decided to upgrade.

BAD idea on my part i think.

my latest machine is noicy during ALL music maker products running.

why is this happening with a new pc.?

how do i stop this,if possible.?

it has two fans installed and one sucks in cold air and the other blows own warm air.

Is it becuase i have to fans installed.?

i have tryed everything i can to fix this really annoying noise.

it perfectly quite during normal use while using facebook/youtube/etc etc etc.

The fan just makes so much dam noise while using magix software.

i have magix and other DAW sofware including acid/magix/pro tools/studio one and studio one version 2.

they all suffer from fan noise during the running of the programme.

my old PC never ever had this problem but it was to slow for for DAW related programmes.

yet this updated pc is ten times faster and ten times quicker at opening all programme yet it also ten times more noisy and its really annoying me now.

DOES ANYONE HAVE ANNY SUGGESTIONS HOW TO MAKE MY FAN MORE QUITE.?

macca,

I run a couple of (older cheaper) Dell machines and the simple answer (actually for most all brands) is that the CPU temperature is monitored and the fan speed is adjusted keep things running cool. If you are running programs that are CPU intensive. like digital editing, then the temp goes up and the fans go on. You said "...they all suffer from fan noise..." so it's not a Magix specific problem.

I've replaced at least one noisy fan in an old machine but I'd suggest having your new unit checked.

Regards,

Carl

i have had this PC 2 days now.

i had it checked and inspected and its perfectfly fine.

they said if the noise continues then they will "consider" a replacement.

NO i dont think so.

im going get my money back.

im fed up with it.

i have many many pcs in my time but nothing with this much noice.

if it aint sorted by the muppets who sold it to me in a week it will go back and i will get my money back.

@ cpu000cpu.

thank you for kind help and thanks for taking time out to read my message.

maca,

Best wishes for a speed solution to your problem. Perhaps your muppet' can demo a quiet machine as a replacement?

A second thought.. might some of the noise be, as you asked, due to having two fans --- running at nearly the same speed -- which produce a 'beat frequency'?

Thanks everso for the feedback!

Carl

Are the fans noisy when you just load MM or when yu start you use it....like loading a style or opening VSTs ?

It sounds like the core processor is a bit overloaded, sort of like inadvertenly you've got to much going on.....more programs running in the background than just Magix stuff.  Let me know, would you ?  Thanks
