Hi, welcome to the Magix forums.

First if you "just recently purchased" MEP Pro 2016, are you aware this is not the latest version?

Second, it would be helpful if you showed us the full error message, but mention of WININET.dll suggests a problem with your internet connection; the registration procedure involves the program contacting a Magix server and recording your serial number against the details of your account. Can you check that your internet access is "working"? Is it possible that your firewall is blocking contact between your computer and the Magix server? If so, you need to ensure that MEP is regarded as a "trusted" program by your firewall.

If your internet is functioning "normally" AND your firewall is not blocking access, please post back with the details of any error message.
