Worked before and now starts then closes

Movie Edit Pro Premium (2022).

Program was working and now it starts and when I select any file it closes. I've been trying to reinstall it but it reaches a certain point and then wants to restart the install process. I've uninstalled the installer and reinstalled that as well. I have tried 6 times and get the same result.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I have removed all the unecessary data from your PC specification and I would suggest you put this information into your Profile, Signature for futere reference so we do not have to keep asking for it.

Check that your Antivirus program is not stopping the installer from completing if necessary temporariliy disable ithe Realtime/Folder/Ransomware features.

Thank you johnebaker. I followed your advice and turned off Windows Defender but it still did not work...going to try it again.

My struggle is over! I built my (now) system 2 in 2011 when DV was king and MPEG 2 was just coming onto the scene and I needed a more powerful system to cope. Since then we've advanced to MP4 and to bigger and bigger resolutions. I was really suffering, not so much in editing (with proxies) but in encoding, which just took ages. A video, with Neat Video noise reduction applied, would encode at 12% of film speed. My new system 1 does the same job at 160% of film speed. Marvellous. I'm keeping my old system as a capture station for analogue video tapes and DV.

I emailed support and they sent me an installer file. Program installed, but I have a generic place markers instead of thumbnails in the import tab.

Excellent, thanks for the feedback, which will help quite a few others having the same dramas.

Re your thumbnails (or lack thereof), could you screenshot your MEP 2022 screen and post it here? Or take a photo of the problem areas.

Hi.

If your generic thumbnails are of video clips you may be missing a codec. Some file types never show up as proper thumbnails such as Photoshop PSD files and some tiff and raw files. What are the file extensions of the files that do not show? Do they show in Windows explorer?

I found the solution to the thumbnail issue. I have never had to log in to One Drive before, When the system upgraded to Windows 11 it must have logged me out so none of my programs had access to the thumbnails, so it used a generic "little mountain" icon.

Solution: Log into One Drive
