Xara3D and Movie Edit Pro 2013

OK.  All of a sudden, Movie Edit Pro 2013 will not import Xara3D titles.  I get an error that reads, "The file format of C:\programdata\magix\movie edit pro 2013 plus\xara3d\..." cannot be read.  Then it goes on to say to make sure the drive is not full or write-portected.

I've noticed others have had this problem.  I am the only user of this computer and the programs runs as an administrator.

I have both an independent and embedded version of Xara3D.  Independent works, but embedded does not launch from Movie Edit Pro.  And, I cannot drag the effect into the timeline from the file folder, either.

Any suggestions?  Sounds like a software problem

Hi

Were you running Windows 8 and have upgraded to 8.1 ?  The upgrade is known to break some programs - if so go straight to step 3

1.   Reset the program settings back to their defaults - File, Settings, Reset....

2.  Using Windows Explorer search for videodeluxe.ini - include hidden and system folders in the search - you will find several versions - the one you want is the largest file by size - rename or delete it.  Start MEP it will recreate the deleted file.

3.   Try re-running the software installer and select the repair option.

Note you will lose any custom settings doing these.
