A Mother's Love

Ok, it's a soppy title - but the track is probably leaning far more towards weird again.  Daisy (free Alter/Ego voice synthesizer by Plogue) demanded I get her out of the folder and give her a chance to sing again.  Had the same pronunciation challenges as usual, trying to get the words out. I'll keep working at that.  Mostly guitar (a DSK steel vst one this time), with upright bass, Alchemy choir, Voiceplex voice and Daisy herself of course.  Starts off all sweetness and then drifts off somewhere else.  All midi work as usual.

In ambient again, because I'm not sure how to categorise it.

Thanks for listening, if you do.

Lyrics
Ooh
You were born,
And everything is different.
Now instead of I, my mind says We.
Your tiny form a part of me

People told me how I'd feel.
I could not believe them.
I thought none of that was real,
Made up by a few men.

Nothing prepared me for how much I'd care.
I'd do pretty much anything to keep her safe, I swear.

And that worries me.
What does that say about me - about man?
I'd take another's  life to save hers.

You are creating a special kind of music and I believe it is something great and very very good!

Yes, your music is always special. I like the singing, it's great. And you managed a nice sound ... with your old system? Thanks for this unusual music *****

What a strangely beautiful track you have created. I was completely ignorant of these VST plugins etc that you use. I just use whatever is in the magix 2014 program. That steel guitar sounds great and authentic. The voice synthesizer obviously doesnt sound authentic at all but that isnt its  intention. And what you have done incorporating it into this song fits wonderfully. The strange synth vocals fit and accentuate the quietly discomforting mood of the song, Of a new mother musing over her new found and profoundly powerful feeling of unconditional love.

Superb atmospheric prog ballad. 5 stars.

no doubt, and I've already written several times in the comunity, your style is unique.
now listening to track passages feel bound to styles also lighter than the progressive music, but this does not mean that all sound engineer and the result is always quality.
in the last song you used this filter or effect on the voice that creates dissonance very effervescent.
I listen and I go back 40 years, many young people now would not understand that the movement of progressive rock music, will be remembered in years to come and will also pass into history.
thanks for reminding me
ah !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still expect a reply to my request for collaboration

Hi Nickillus,

Love your creativity. Daisy lends an etheral quality to the song as she drifts over the background music. Brings to mind prog rock bands like Soft Machine, Gentle Giant  and King Crimson to name a few but sounding fresh and current.

Compliments to you on creating something that you may not know how to classify but definitely needs to be heard.

Cheers,

Stu

Hey Nick,

A Mother's love....and Norbert's love!

I like this very special synth sound, it gives me goosebumps....

And the guitar is really beautiful.

The track setup is great and the changes in louder / calmer passages are very well times and fit my taste all over.

Great one, thank you!

Best regards, Norbert

...wunderschön bizzar...und die stimme ist in der tat ziemlich..."weird"...was aber zu den ambivalenten muttergefühlen im text doch sehr gut passt...stellenweise dachte ich, dass die stimme von kate bush dazu sehr fein passen würde...

Your music is always a little strange, a little different - and really progressive!

I like your special style very much!

Amicalement.

Sandro Glavina is an italian composer, named L'Uomo e L'Ombra. The choice of the name derives from the title of the album "L'uomo e l'ombra" of the band "Abstract Music Nuova Esistenza", an experimental group founded by Sandro Glavina together with his friends in the mid-70s.

In the period 2009-2022, L'Uomo e L'Ombra has done 84 albums. The compositions of Sandro Glavina are partly influenced by progressive rock. Sandro has developed a personal style with many experimentations and actualizations. He offers music beyond borders by intertwining different styles in crossover with each other. Prog, psychedelia, classical, post-rock, jazz, pop are some of the influences that dissolve in ambient atmospheres, citations of contemporary music and minimalist nuances. Sandro Glavina aka L'Uomo e L'Ombra plays the music using VSTI synthesizers, keyboards and adds some loops. Sandro isn't a professional musician, composes and plays music just for fun, but his works reach a good outcome, pleasant to listen. L'UOMO E L'OMBRA
