Greetings Magix community,

Though Halloween is coming late in the coming month I decided to take a break from all those things in the dark, the eerie noises, the growls, the monsters, the bad dreams and such things around me and share an 80s song I have been working on that is certainly my favorite. Here with my own style, produced solely with my own studio instruments including my 16 string lyre ... I will present my latest music-video 'A Story Without End' based on a very popular song from the 80s 'The Never Ending Story'.

Perhaps you would tell all those dark things of Halloween to wait until we listen to and maybe sing the words of this song with the melody that I provide.

With the help of a good midi set that has been provided to me for this song, I have produced this ambient song, certainly with a lot of work to get all the instruments to work together and accomplish a very challenging mix-down. But it is so much fun re-visiting my favorite song of the 80s.

Hope you can enjoy this song and the break from the dark to listen to a never ending story like theme I have produced exclusively for the Magix community ;)

I know the wonderful fantasy film and, of course, the music video by Limahl – the song was a huge hit in the 80s. It brings back so many memories for me – for example, I played this song a lot in my time as a DJ in the 80s. 😉

A cheerful accompaniment to the Never Ending Story idea, this track carries a dignified warmth in its synth tones—something almost Verdi-like in its composure. The stereo field is thoughtfully handled, with subtle touches that add dimension without distraction. The visuals are well illustrated, leaning into the fantasy with pretty children and soft hues that echo the '80s charm.

It’s a nostalgic gesture, and for some of us, it even stirs memories of falling asleep during the original film! A niece made me watch it with her. Amusing memory, not a critique, just a quiet nod to the era.

There you are Phillip as certain as the night and day with your well thought and accurate comments on my works. Yes having to deal with the technical details of representing someone else's creation and ideas gives me needing to put the extra effort to keep the meaning of the song but with my own accent of expression. Well the movie was not a dramatic action movie to keep you on the edge of your seat, but is a comforting story that can be shared across the family. And I am sure that you did have pleasant dreams in you own never ending story - lol.

Thanks for noticing how I was able to keep each ear of the listener busy without distraction from the combined experience of the sound.
