Greetings Magix community,

The Christmas season is here and for my contribution to this festive time of year I will present an instrumental song that I composed, performed, and produced in 2019. One late night in the very late hours of the night I felt a strong inspiration to sit at the keyboard. Perhaps an angelic guidance came over me and I quickly made a studio setup similar to my 'Classical Dream' setup. Β

I was feeling being on the edge of sleep, sat down at the keyboard and midi controls and started to play ... just let it flow ... key in the notes as I was feeling the inspiration, bring in the synths needed to create a large symphony in some segments with a feeling of peace.

The original track was about 9 minutes long. This remix of that track has been shortened to about 6 minutes with lots of peaceful pictures to enjoy in the video. I had also added to some segments some light synth accompaniment to what I had the years before in this mix and made some improvements in the sound quality. But the spirit of peace and comfort still remains in the sound of this song track along with the imagery that goes along with the spirit of the musicΒ

'A Time For Peace', (P) 2019 Mark Kostora, a remix and remaster of the original track for the Magix community (2025)

My thanks to all the digital artists who have provided me with the excellent imagery for this video that worked so well with this song theme.

Perhaps this track theme is for every month of the year ...

Love and Peace to all!

Mark ;)

A Time For Peace

Sound Design: The synth accompaniment enriches the impromptu piano core, adding warmth and depth. The β€œwall of sound” layering creates a reflective atmosphere rather than playful textures.

Structure: The piece unfolds gently, with no sudden shifts or humorous diversions. Its slow tempo sustains the midnight introspection, keeping the mood consistent throughout.

Resonance: The sentiment aligns with the serious side of Christmasβ€”more contemplative than celebratory. The artwork complements this tone, reinforcing the reflective intent.

Overall, it’s a restrained, thoughtful offering: less about surprise, more about holding space for quiet reflection.

Β

Thank you for sharing this midnight reflectionβ€”it carries the peace its title promises.

@Philip-J

Thank you again for the effort you give in your comments. You are certainly accurate in the meaning and intention of 'A Time For Peace'. In keying in the notes and musical expression as it had come to me having a constant and consistent mood the meaning was simple and hopefully understood by anyone who views the video. Only two words are used and visually only. And the emphasis of this piece is on the 'heightened feeling' of contentment that perhaps no words could truly express. I had been in many situations during Christmas in my lifetime, military service, with others or alone, whatever I was doing a the time. And even in stressful times but I had always taken the time to feel and share what this song is expressing. I feel it is appropriate for the Christmas season, but could apply to any time of the year.

I notice you didn't get into the technical detail of the music that I was able to handle in my 'sleep' ;) The meaning and feel of this song takes the spotlight!

Best wishes to you and have a Merry Christmas ;)

Mark ;)

Hi Mark, my friend.

Sitting down at the keyboard at night was a great idea.

A very beautiful, calm, and peaceful piece of music with fantastic pictures to go with it.

Really well done.πŸ’―πŸ‘πŸ‘Œ

It can always be worthwhile to spontaneously implement an idea, no matter the time.

Hello Mark, my friend!

Yes, Christmas should be celebrated in peace and quiet all over the world. But unfortunately, it won't be so peaceful everywhere again this year – such a shame! πŸ˜‘

Your musical work is beautiful and unique! As the title promises, it brings with it that calm and peaceful atmosphere, which of course fits perfectly with the Christmas season! Superb instrumentation, top-notch sound, and wonderful visuals in your video! πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸŽΉπŸŽΉπŸŽΉπŸŽΉπŸŽΉπŸŽ¬πŸŽ¬πŸŽ¬πŸŽ¬πŸŽ¬πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’―

Self-composed, I'm impressed. You took advantage of the right time and sat down at your keyboard 🎹 You write "just let it flow". You can hear that: this music actually flows without rough edges. You have created a nice pleasant atmosphere. Great work ❀️

Bravo, my friend! You composed a very good symphonic piece back then.
It's pleasant and soothing to listen to.
Congratulations! And it's true that there are no specific times or hours for playing music and composing, and the same goes for writing lyrics; it all depends on our inspiration at the moment, lol!
Happy holidays and take care.
Best regards.
