Hello Everyone,

Time for my next song...Calypso Breeze.  This is one of my favorites.  I had fun doing this song as with my others, but for some reason, I especially enjoyed writing this one.  It has a light Calypso/Caribbean feel to it.  Close your eyes and imagine you're sitting on a warm beach somewhere...favorite drink in hand...enjoying the breeze coming off the ocean.  Ok...sorry but now we have to come to reality.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this...and Oh...by the way...I'm working on my next appreciation song.  Who will it be???????

Brenda

Hi Brenda,

Just what the doctor ordered! It's -25C (-13F) right now and I need all the heat I can get. Loved the Carribbean flare you added, primarily through the percussion, without sounding text book. The way you increased and ebbed the volume in the various passages added real depth to the song. I have to say that the chord progression was really cool and had me bopping to the beat!

Loved this very much, going to keep it in my fav's to keep me warm.

Great feeling, great playing, great arrangement!.

Cheers,

Stu

Hi Brenda:

Thanks for the invitation...

This smooth and warm song is a perfect blast of tropical air on this very cold day here in the Northeast.

As always, you really know how to bring it.

Stay warm!

Griff

the delicacy and refined way of creating music is inherent in the composer, I think that your preparation is undoubtedly the highest level and the result of your work seems always at the highest level.

Hi Brenda

What a nice, toasty feeling emotes from this tune.  I must admit it wasn't what I was expecting from the title.  I thought I was going to hear steel drums and a Jimmy Buffett vibe (which I also like) but this is more on the jazzy side.  I like it very much.  At around 2 minutes, I thought you were going to change keys.   Actually there were several times where you used some interesting block chords that could have led to a nifty key change.  I had to take it back to the beginning to make sure you hadn't changed keys and I don't think you did.  Now I have to go to my keyboards and see what chords you used because they would be great for a modulation!

OK, now it's back to reality. Snow, wind, and below freeaing temps.  Boooo!

Sandro Glavina is an italian composer, named L'Uomo e L'Ombra. The choice of the name derives from the title of the album "L'uomo e l'ombra" of the band "Abstract Music Nuova Esistenza", an experimental group founded by Sandro Glavina together with his friends in the mid-70s.

In the period 2009-2022, L'Uomo e L'Ombra has done 84 albums. The compositions of Sandro Glavina are partly influenced by progressive rock. Sandro has developed a personal style with many experimentations and actualizations. He offers music beyond borders by intertwining different styles in crossover with each other. Prog, psychedelia, classical, post-rock, jazz, pop are some of the influences that dissolve in ambient atmospheres, citations of contemporary music and minimalist nuances. Sandro Glavina aka L'Uomo e L'Ombra plays the music using VSTI synthesizers, keyboards and adds some loops. Sandro isn't a professional musician, composes and plays music just for fun, but his works reach a good outcome, pleasant to listen. L'UOMO E L'OMBRA
