Another comparative quickie.  More a musical sketch than anything else, I guess.  Having fun playing with some of the wonderful vst/midi sounds available both within Magix (DN-e1 synth) and others I've found online (Iris 2, Voiceplex), either free, or within my very limited budget for such things.  All composed in the matrix editor, using a core of Magix instruments as usual.  Starts off rather proggy, then wanders off, then back, then off again.  The title seemed to suit both the tune and the excitable idiot making it.

Thanks for listening if you do.

Hi Nick:

Careful with hurling those self-deprecating words around, good buddy .  "Excitable", for sure.  "Idiot", I think not!

Once again you've created a very unique and challenging piece of music here.  If I've mentioned it to you once, I've said it a thousand times, your musical mind is inventive and quite facile.  The structure, and phrasings are the elements that make my ears perk.  That is why I gravitate to your side of the concert hall every time you take to the stage, man.

Great sounds to start this 2016 session...

Cheers to you and your more beautiful alter-ego.

A very conservative beat here that still has a full soundspace, straight off the bat... Ace work here bro!!!

I like the thick bass notes here, so rumbly but clear, it sets a great tone to begin with.

Then the high synths come in they sit in a very good spot within the entire stereo field.

I like how you can make a full length beat like this in such a short time!!

;)

In your last few pieces, your drumwork has been a lot more involved, using a lot of the drums to also tell a role in the track. But here you have kept it minimal, and still it plays a very nice part in the track!

I can literally hear your sleepless nights here in this piece, the crisp high, firm mids and deep notes have been mastered really well!!!

End of my review... looking back through what I wrote.... Hmmm, Idiot isn't anywhere to be seen... I can see Ace though...

;)

I am pleased that in this period the composition ideas do not lack.
once again a test of your incomparable musical musical style.
unique and special, music study and understand.
I would say that this track is very beautiful and with experimental sounds
very interesting.
dear NIck 70s would have been one of the great progressive and I'm not kidding.
I would have bought your disk, without any doubt,
I think the time has come to create an album the best, then I will listen with great pleasure

A very inventive proggy track. I have no idea how to classify it. Very well produced, A strange atmospheric soundscape you have created here.

Huh? Idiot? Can't be seen anywhere I look...oh, I found the mirror now...there he is!

And most certainly this word doesn't cross my mind even in the farthest corner of my head when listening to this tune.

The synths which you have chosen are a clear message to me: "Don't try this at home, kids! You might get hurt trying to do anything like this."

Your musical sketches contain more depth than a lot of so-called "professional music tracks". Impressive. Indeed.

Entertaining and experimentally crawling into my ears this track builds up its very own, unique style. And I do like how it does that. Never overdone with ups and downs, high to mid synth sounds. All for the greater good - to make me feel good when listening in.

Full house and into my Fav folder - 1st track to get in there this year.

Thanks a lot for this track, mate. I know I gotta learn a lot in music - good that I can try to start learning from his excellence, King of experimental music, Nickillus the First (and only).

All the best, Norbert
