Sticking my elbows out a bit, I've joined the Clyp music site as well. They have a fun challenge going on until the end of the month, and this is what I've lobbed in. You have to use some provided samples, but apart from that the brief is pretty loose. I used a number of drum sounds, loading them into a free vst called 'Drum Table' from where I could use them as midi in the piano roll. Everything else is midi in the piano roll as usual. String Section and Upright Bass inevitably make an appearance.

Thanks for listening if you do.

It is always a pleasure to listen to your music. I think that as always you have made a very good track.
Sound debris and harmonious construction without any doubt very contemporary.
Style is your inimitable ....
great

Hi Nick

Powerful stuff, my friend and with a nice melody to boot! The strings add a nice background to the piano. I think perhaps this is my favorite of yours. Super job. Oh...very good how you return to the main theme throughout the piece. It gives it cohesion and sense of being complete.

Most excellent!

Trish

Hi Nick,

Absolutely love the strings in combination with the electronic percussions. When the drums kick in around 1:20 they add a delicious layer which you float the synths over so nicely. This definitely sounds like a "composition" rather just stringing sounds together. Lots of elements that are outstanding in this song.

Well done to say the least.

Cheers,

Stu
