Playing with the 'pop brass' and DNe1 synth in Music Maker Premium 2015 again.  Put together using the matrix editor.  A tad old fashioned but was fun to do.  Plopped it in the pop section for want of spotting somewhere better, so apologies to any purists I offend.  Thanks for listening if you do.

sounds to me like you've chosen, perhaps in some cases too dark, but it's great music but I would not call pop.
this is the great ambient musics
okay

Hi Nick:

I have to agree with Franco on this one.  It certainly has more of an "ambient" texture and flair.

My sense of this piece is that it seems to convey a story; in that it has distinct parts and passages.  The 'crescendoing' (yes, that's a word) of brass instruments usually denotes the conclusion of some event or action in a song, but can also indicate the foreshadowing of things to come.  I like the musical messages it sends.

Well executed, good buddy.

Thank you both for the helpul and positive  feedback, chaps.

How interesting that you both get ambient undertones I'd not even thought about.  Wood for the trees and all that, I guess.  Perhaps it would be a good idea for me to tuck any song I do away for a bit, then listen to it fresh to reappraise, before dumping it upon the unsuspecting world.
Might allow the distance for greater insight into what I'm doing?  That won't protect your poor ears though.  They'll still cop it sooner or later.  Ah well . . . . .

Nick,

Definitely Ambient.  But you know, genre descriptions change so much frequently, it's hard to determine where any music goes.  I went from Jazz to Latin/Contemporary/Classic/Acid Jazz, to Neo-Soul.  Classifications are confusing.  Music is music.

This definitely tells a story like Griff said.  I like this piece quite a bit.  Your music is meant for the world to hear.  There will always be those who understand it, those who don't, those who try, and those who understand it and want to help you make it better.  The latter are the people I appreciate the most.  You have a creativity that is out of this world.  Keep creating man...you're on the right path.
