Bought Producer Planet Independence and got no Serial Number
Hi there, Sorry to hear that. If the purchase went through, you should have received an order number (...IAP) and the serial number via e-mail. So, please do contact our sales/support team to recover the necessary information. If you have the order number, make sure to include it. Otherwise, make sure to include the e-mail address you used for this. I managed to locate two different accounts and e-mail addresses in our system, just based on your user name and the name given in those accounts, but failed to find any such Producer Planet purchase under either one. So, I think a third account may be involved? Either way, we'll be able to dig up the necessary information one way or another. Thanks!

Store App within Magix Music Maker
@VDS Hi there, Just a few remarks in addition to what was already said: If you're really experiencing the problem with the support website rejecting you with a current product, please try logging out completely from the support website and logging back in once. That should force a syncing of the support website with the actual customer database. Also, you can always choose the sales support option on the support website to get through with a problem like this. There won't be any checks regarding the age of your software, and thus no such problem. You would receive your serial number for SOUND FORGE Audio Studio 12 via e-mail once you are actually able to successfully redeem the Music Maker Premium edition serial number within Music Maker. It is generated and assigned by the MAGIX server. Since you're apparently not able to do so at the moment, for technical reasons, you wouldn't have received the SF Audio Studio serial number yet. If assume you performed the Audio Studio installation through some other source - not the Music Maker in-app store. So, it might be the wrong version as well. However, this consideration only becomes relevant once you have addressed the primary problem at hand. So, as far as the online connectivity issue with Music Maker's store goes, a few helpful things have already been said above. I have to say that such issues are really rare with Music Maker and the in-app store system. Unlike other MAGIX software and components, it doesn't rely on the Internet Exporer API. The in-app store system uses Qt's webkit for connectivity, which in turn uses a Chromium engine that it installs with the main program. So, there aren't really many things that can go wrong here, and it's hard to mess up this system in the same manner that you could mess up Internet Explorer API settings. Security/firewall settings is really something you might want to look into. Or maybe this was just some kind of temporary issue? Please give it another try. Hi there, Sorry, but I'm fraid Music Maker doesn't really allow you to benefit from additional controls on such a MIDI device to e.g. control the program. The transport controls and other program functions don't respond to MIDI. It's really just good for inputting notes via the actual keyboard part. Cheers!

I am still having the problem All files with mxcogg extension are not working, I get an error message. see image I think I worked on your support case. So, you'll already have this answer. However, just for the record and for anyone in this forum seeking help in this thread: Please note that not every instance of not being able to load an MXCOGG file would be related to the problem described in this thread (which has been fixed). In fact, the original problem apparently wasn't even about actually decoding the MXCOGG files, but just about the fact that MXCOGG files were referenced in the old projects, even if the format on the hard drive had already been replaced in the meantime. Before this problem here, and now that it has already been fixed again, such problems decoding MXCOGG files on import would be due to you not having the rights to do so, since the program cannot verify the purchase status of that soundpool. This would happen if you still have MXCOGG files on your hard drive that were downloaded in the older Music Maker generation (i.e. version 25.x), but you're currently not logged into the in-app store system (or at least not under the correct account, under which you own the soundpool in question.) So, please check and make sure that is the case. For more recently downloaded or re-downloaded soundpools (generation 27.x and 28.x), this issue wouldn't arise, since they would automatically be in non-encrypted formats and be accessible regardless of the log-in status. (Naturally, this is different again if you're actually a "Loops Unlimited" subscriber and you downloaded MXCOGGs on that basis, in which case you'll definitely need to be logged into the in-app store to have access to those soundpools.) Hope this helped to untangle this whole situation a bit.

If it was still working for you under the more recent OSX/macOS generations, prior to Catalina, you were pretty lucky. change automated sound pool choice and speed?😕
Hi there, I'm not completely positive I can fully follow what your workflow is, and what specifically your question is, but this is how it generally works: Each soundpool has a default tempo in which it has been produced. However, it's possible to use loops at a different tempo and combine loops from soundpools with different tempo via the magic of time stretching. When you first import a soundpool loop into an empty project, the project main tempo will conform to the tempo of that soundpool. If you then go ahead and import further loops with different tempos, those loops will conform to the project tempo, i.e. unless you specifically turned off that option in the program settings, in which case you will just get a big mess with loops being out of time with one another. You can also change the entire project tempo after the fact via the main BPM setting next to the transport controls and time display. This will result in *all* contained audio loops being adjusted to the new tempo via time stretching. Hope this info helps!

Exporting midi
I don’t see how you’re lost. All I asked to export as midi but in ‘wav’ format. Arranger doesn’t work in this case obviously for me so If there’s no option, all you have to say is ‘no you can’t’ Thanks anyway. I think I'm about as confused as everyone else about your intention and what problem you're having carrying out this endeavour. However, it looks like you simply have some misconceptions as to what MIDI is, and how that is different from digitised audio. Hi there, Sorry, but you may need to provide a little more context here, especially if and how this relates to a MAGIX product, what version you're using and what you're doing to get that error message. The files you got are probably in some digital audio format, possibly with somewhat higher specs than a standard audio CD, which I suppose is where your remark regarding "SACD quality" comes in. However, SACD is not a file format, and it uses a specific coding that is not PCM. The file would have to be in a specific file format, using a specific codec, e.g. WAV files using PCM, or maybe FLAC files. So, can you please them back in MP3 Deluxe(?) but not convert them to another audio format? Best regards

Music Maker 2020 Premium Edition
Seems like the padlocked instruments are still a never-dwindling source of misunderstandings and questions. I should probably sit down and write an exhaustive primer on this topic at some point in time. 😬 In a nutshell: If you own the bundle of Music Maker and Samplitude Music Studio, the additional, padlocked instruments you're seeing in Music Maker are pretty much guaranteed to come from your Samplitude Music Studio (SMS) installation. And SMS does tend to come with *a lot* of instruments. They will only be usable in Music Maker if you own those very same instruments through the in-app store system, since that is the only system that Music Maker uses for DRM purposes now. Now, you're generally able to enter the serial number of SMS into Music Maker to unlock bundled instrument items via the in-app store system. However, for reasons of product policy and company strategy, starting in generation 2019 of SMS, this no longer unlocks the entirety of bundled instruments, but just a fraction of them (usually the ones that were introduced as new instruments for that SMS version). So, this may be an additional stumbling block. The instruments that remain locked in Music Maker would need to be purchased via the in-app store system to be used in that program. Otherwise, they will only be available to you in SMS, with which they were bundled. Sorry, possibly not the most satisfactory response, but it should at least explain what the situation is and what options you have.

export options gone after windows upgrade
Hi there, This would indicate the program is no longer able to interface properly with some Microsoft/Windows multimedia components that it requires for the various export options. We had a few reports like this for older Music Maker versions in the past few days/weeks. It really does seem like a Windows update must have changed some internals and triggered the more frequent occurrence of this problem. Please note that you have a free upgrade path to the most current generation of Music Maker, as per the information in the second part of my post here: https://www.magix.info/uk/forum/music-maker-update-28-0-2-45--1232664/ I very much recommend that you choose this option to resolve the issue, especially with with an older version like 2014, which isn't even officially designed and tested for Windows 10. However, just in general, I recommend using this upgrade path to gain access to the most recent product generation with all the latest bug fixes and improvements. Hope this helps!

Piano roll: Play clicked notes not working
Make sure to get back on ASIO or WASAPI drivers in the "Audio/MIDI" tab. You probably switched to Wave or DirectSound as driver type. In more recent Music Maker versions, which are now using the Samplitude audio engine, these driver types can no longer produce any MIDI output when in pause/stop mode. This would apply to the on-screen MIDI keyboard, the piano roll of the MIDI Editor, and even external MIDI input. (You will still get sound when playing back MIDI sequences in the arranger.) With any kind of audio or MIDI recording workflow you'd want to be using ASIO or WASAPI anyway, since you'll need to ensure the latency times are low enough. Hope this helps!

Incorrect Serial Number for Music Maker
Thank you for your reply. I was just concerned at why I was being asked for a serial number at all. I got the impression that there was a paid version of MM. I got MM through my purchase of Samplitude Studio, I assumed the Samplitude number was the one that was being requested (but I was clearly wrong). As John discussed above, the entry of the serial number is optional. Yes, there are paid-for editions of more current Music Maker versions, and those comes as "P3" serial numbers when being purchased through magix.com (as opposed to when being purchased directly through the Music Maker in-app store). So, those can be redeemed there. However, that field also allows you to redeem the serial numbers for certain older Music Maker versions and (Samplitude) Music Studio versions to unlock certain features and instruments associated with those programs. In fact, entering your current Samplitude Music Studio serial number will work and result in some instruments being unlocked through the in-app store system free of charge as a little bonus feature. (Unfortunately, for reasons of product policy and company strategy this will no longer result in the unlocking of the complete instrument set from SMS 2019 and SMS 2020.) Cheers!

Vocals Won't Play Back
We have all been caught with that. It's not obvious. "Not obvious" is a horribly kind and politically correct way to describe this bug, John. 😅 I can confirm that this is definitely still on the development agenda. However, this unintuitive program behaviour is probably only going to change in the next major version. That version should see a big overhaul of the audio recording engine, pretty much in the same manner that a lot of the MIDI issues got fixed in generation 28.x. This will include the multiple other issues that you reported in that area. Cheers!

Hi @Tree-05 The direct link not working to bypass the download manager sounds like an unlikely scenario to me. What link specifically were you using? Please keep in mind that the direct link (as opposed to the official download manager links in your MAGIX account or order confirmation) can expire quickly, once the installer on the server for particular product generation gets replaced with a newer version. I did check the Music Maker 27.x link above, and it's still active, though. So, it *should* work for you. However, really, you'd want to go with the direct link for generation 28.x now: http://dl04.magix.net/2019/MusicMaker28/Music_Maker_28.0.0.12_INT_190628_14-15.exe On a side note, as far as the true cause of this download manager problem situation goes, we have also managed to connecting the whole "download manager progress pauses at 0%" situation to the dreaded "controlled folder access" feature in Windows Defender. (Yes, another one of those problems...) If you have this feature activated, it could be causing this conflict with our installer. In order to turn it back off, please proceed as follows: Open the Windows Defender Security Center by clicking the shield icon in the task bar or searching the start menu for "Defender". Click the "Virus & threat protection" tile (or the shield icon on the left menu bar) and then click "Ransomware protection". Set the switch for "Controlled folder access" to "Off". Once this is done, please perform the MAGIX program download/installation again. If you wanted to turn the protective feature discussed above back on after the successful installation, this should not be a problem. Hope this helps!

So, this patch is being deployed through the auto-update function in the program to all users now. Sorry for the hassle to anyone who was experiencing this problem with old legacy projects. Hey there, Sorry, but I can't make any reliable statement as to the problem cause either. My recommendation to @dpewit would be to raise a support ticket and troubleshoot this in detail with our video support experts: http://support.magix.net Unfortunately, some of the DVD authoring logs above are somewhat contradictory, and I'm not sure they all document the same issue ("user cancelled?") I do remember that, many product generations ago (and possibly still now), you were able to provoke similar encoding error codes by fiddling with the DVD menu structure in Photostory (e.g. by taking out project items again by unticking the entry that was generated for each single image in the project in the DVD menu structure). Just in general, things having gone haywire in the DVD menu structure could be a source of encoding problems. If this might apply to you, and you have customised the menu, you might want to try repotting your movie(s) into a fresh project again. You can do this e.g. by exporting a movie (*.MVD) file for each movie in your project (which will likely just be one) via the "File" menu => "Manage project" sub menu => "Export movie file" sub menu => "MAGIX movie file (*.mvd)" option. Once this is done, start with a completely fresh project, import the MVD file via the same "Import movie file" option again, do little or no DVD menu customising, and try to author the disc again. Hi there, Sounds like you must be using an outdated version of Music Maker that still uses the old/regular MAGIX copy-protection system ("Protein"). Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to receive this kind of error message. Possibly, that version isn't even fully suitable for your current OS. More details on your version and the problem context might be helpful. However, you should also check out the information in the following post on how to perform a free upgrade to a current Music Maker generation: https://www.magix.info/uk/forum/music-maker-update-28-0-2-44--1232664/ Depending on the problem specifics, this might very well be a simple solution to your issue. If "Bass Machine" was bundled with your old version, the entry of that version's serial number will unlock "Bass Machine" via the in-app store system and enable you to use it in the current version. Hi all, Sorry this issue had to spawn such a long thread. Just wanted to confirm again that this is precisely the problem we're already working on, now that the OP has confirmed the problem details. A fix is to be expected early next week, I believe. The introduction of the soundpool subscription did indeed call for the comeback of the crypted MXCOGG format. Now, there seems to be a little kink in the logic of the mechanism that is checking for the availability of subscription soundpools in loaded projects. If you're not (i.e. no longer) on the subscription, this dialogue is supposed to inform you about the loops that were purchased through the subscription and are now no longer available to the user. The problem is that, after finding references to MXCOGG files in a project, it only checks for subscription status, but doesn't move on to checking whether you possibly purchased that particular soundpool as a permanent item in the olden days of Music Maker 25.x. So, it prevents you from effectively opening those older projects that may still contain references to MXCOGG loops, which wouldn't have been a problem before. (While Music Maker 27.x and 28.x did no longer download crypted MXCOGGs from the server, they were still able to handle/decode them, if they had been instaleld by version 25.x before.) So, I hope this clears things up. Sorry again for the hassle. Please hang in there until next week. Thanks!
