Hi there, Sorry to hear about your problems. As far as the issue with the reversing of the playback direction of an audio clip goes, this seems to only happen under very specific circumstances. It was reported by a few users since the release of this current product generation, but never with a reliable description to replicate the problem here. At one point, we thought we had replicated it here, but when it actually came to the analysis and fixing of the problem, this turned out to be a pretty elusive issue once again. :-( So, if you can provide the necessary details and enable use to reliably produce the problem, we'll gladly give it another go. Thanks. As far as the second, bigger problem goes, I'm not really clear on the current status of that issue. If that issue was somehow specific to that project, because of something you had done with the use of track volume curves, and you had already sorted out this issue somewhere along the line and successfully mixed down the project to MP3, then how did this problem return? Does it still affect the same project now when doing further work on it and trying to export again? Or did you manage to replicate it on another project, also by using track volume curves? I'm not sure I can follow that. If you can reliably replicate this issue, I'd be happy to hear more details. In the meantime, I'll also fiddle around with track volume curves and exports to see whether I can make the problem happen. Cheers!

I noticed that the browser for both video effects and sound effect is back in another shape so to speak, I really miss the small miniature preview icons for all effects and videos - are they coming back? Not sure, I'm afraid. The "Templates" tab and the whole "ready-to-use audio effect chains" concept is probably still going to receive some future development and GUI design attention. However, I cannot promise how soon this will happen, and whether there will be different views (and smaller icon sizes) for the "Templates" tab again. Sorry. Alternatively, you can still access the audio effect presets via the "File manager" tab on the right-hand side of the screen, via the "Audio effects" sub section. This was previously intended as a makeshift replacement for the missing "Templates" tab. However, maybe this option actually works better for you. Cheers!

Missing sounds fron upgraded version
Hello Richard, The problem you're experiencing would suggest that, for whatever reason, the referenced loops cannot be found and loaded at the time of opening the project. Please keep in mind that the Music Maker project files are not self-contained, and include only references (in the form of full file paths and names) to audio files used in the project. This would be true for both (audio) loops imported into the project, as well as audio recordings performed through the program. Consequently, if an audio object can no longer be loaded, this might be because it's no longer available under the original location on your system. It may have been deleted, moved or renamed. This could even just be a minor change in one of the folder names that are part of the entire folder path leading to the file. Please consider what changes you may have made. Issues
Only problem is I am still unable to purchase or browse any new soundpools unless they are being advertised on sale or discount in the store. My browser continues to tell me that there are no available soundpools for purchase but will allow me to browse and purchase instruments, presets and versions..... Hi there, Please make sure you didn't inadvertently enable any unwanted filtering options for the soundpools section of the store system. Other than that, this might be some in-app store caching issue. If you're not getting on, you might want to consider cleaning up the store via the appropriate option in the "General options" tab of the Music Maker program settings ("P" key). Make sure to log back into the store system with your account after the program has restarted. Hope this helps!

Hi Steven, If you don't have a serial number on file, and you don't remember buying a version since you started using the software in 2017, chances are you are an early user of the free Music Maker version (25.0.x) that introduced the new "freemium" concept. With that version, MAGIX started pursuing a new concept with the Music Maker product line of offering a completely free base product, which can then be expanded with audio content/loops and virtual software instruments via the built-in store system. After another update we put out for that version (to version 25.1.x), we added further functionality and content. You were then able to also purchase entire editions of Music Maker through the built-in store, which are essentially another way to get credit for picking audio/loop content, software instruments and program features. There is now basically just one single version of Music Maker, which makes it easier to maintain and ensure that every customer is using the most recent version. This version is then customised by the user according to their individual needs, by just adding the particular audio content, instruments and program features they want. The function to enter a serial number is just needed to unlock the credits for the editions mentioned above (if purchased outside of Music Maker), or can also be used to unlock features/instruments from older Music Maker ans Samplitude Music Studio generations that some users may own. You don't necessarily need to enter anything here, if that doesn't apply to you. You would still be able to keep using the free version, and obtain add-on content or features through the built-in store system, if required. I hope this clears up the confusion!

Adding instruments to MM EDM edition?
Hi there, @Graham-Hawker is right on all counts, including his recommendation of the more cost effective Plus/Premium editions. Just for completeness' sake: If you do decide to get the VST support, either via real currency or via a feature credit from the Plus/Premium edition, the feature pack you're looking for is named "Creative Suite". It contains support for external VST plug-ins, as well as other useful features. Keep in mind that you need to use 32bit VST plug-ins with Music Maker at this stage, as it's a 32bit host program. How can I change the vita instruments path please?
Hi there, For the past few generations (starting in Music Maker 2013), MAGIX music programs have been using a centralised, shared location for the storage of various content components (mainly the software instruments and soundpools that come with the software or are now installed via the in-app store in Music Maker). This would be the default path for that location, containing the various sub folders for soundpools, synths etc.: C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\ This default location can be modified via the custom installation option when installing a MAGIX program making use of that location, like Music Maker. However, here's the catch: This being a centralised, global location, it can only be changed when installing the first piece of MAGIX software that is using it on your system. After that, it's set in stone. When you run subsequent MAGIX software installations, you can still access the customised installation screen in the installer, and maybe change other relevant program folders, but you won't be able to change the location for this particular shared folder. If you really need to relocate this to a different location/drive, you'd need to uninstall all relevant MAGIX programs, and uninstall *all* of the content managed in that location via the "MAGIX Content and Soundpools" option in Windows' list of installation applications, until eventually that entry completely appears from the list. Now, if you perform a fresh Music Maker or Samplitude Music Studio installation again, you should find that you can, once again, customise the location of this global "Common" folder in the advanced installation options. Future instrument and soundpool installations through the in-app store (current Music Makers) or program installers & content downloaders (old Music Makers, Samplitude/Music Studio, ACID) will then be using the location of your choice. (MAGIX video editing and slideshow programs are now also starting to adopt this concept.) PLEASE ALSO NOTE: When you say you successfully changed the location for the soundpool installation, I think that's probably a misunderstanding. I assume you're referring to the "Soundpool" folder in the "Folders" tab of Music Maker's program settings. However, this folder setting only tell the Song Maker where to look for soundpools. (Unfortunately, this is not documented and explained very well.) It neither tells the "Loops" manager where to look for soundpools (which is driven via a database that you can add to via a function under the "Loops" tab), nor does it tell the in-app store where to install future soundpool downloads. This can only be affected via the settings for the MAGIX "Common" content folder explained above. I hope this info helps!

Using Soundpools/Loops from sites other than Producer Planet
Hi Ron, In a nutshell: It's certainly possible to use third-party sample content to mimic the structure of a MAGIX soundpool to some degree, but it's probably not worth the effort. Most makers of loop/sample content in non-proprietary audio file formats create and sell their content for a big variety of DAWs. So, there's no common standard for exactly how the content should be named and structured etc. You will probably always end up simply pulling in single loops through some kind of file browser in most any DAW. The only way this process becomes a bit more comfortable and sophisticated is probably if your content comes in proprietary sample library formats for quasi-industry-standard software samplers like Native Instruments KONTAKT etc. Feel free to also check out this thread and my response there: https://www.magix.info/uk/forum/how-can-i-get-a-soundpool-from-the-outside--1228802/ Hope this info helps! (If you're interested, I can still post up some information on the specifications of a soundpool, so you can handcraft your own one, even if just for fun. In older versions of Music Maker, building your own DIY soundpools involved some not very intuitive modifications in a program configuration file in order to be able to get them indexed in the database. However, this is no longer the case in more current generations.)

Where can I see license conditions of my soundpools?
Hi @Entertainer-Racker Glad to hear it seems I was able to help for the most part so far. For soundpools that you already obtained the non-commercial license of and that therefore appear as "acquired" in Music Maker, you'd definitely need to go through Producer Planet to obtain the commercial license as well. It couldn't be done through Music Maker using the same account. On Producer Planet, you would be able to find the same soundpool via the search function or via your "My Products" list there. In the info page for that item, you'd then be able to choose between the non-commercial option (which should confirm that you already own this item), and the commercial one (which would still show a price and purchase option). Antarestech VST2 VST3 AAX plugin not showing up
Sorry, but Music Maker is a 32bit-only host program at this point in time. The switch to 64bit architecture would be a fundamental change to the software, which will only happen in the context of a major Music Maker release - not via a smaller update. So, it couldn't possibly happen before the release of the next big Music Maker generation next summer.

Where can I see license conditions of my soundpools?
Hi @Entertainer-Racker You're comparing soundpools to instruments here. The software instruments are basically, by design, always fit for commercial use, as long as you're using those instrument preset sounds to compose your own original content. This is part of the reason why they are now marked as commercial licenses in the in-app store purchase process. There are no other, non-commercial options for the same software instruments. So, the question whether an instrument is licensed for commercial use or not doesn't really come up. I suppose the more interesting question to ask would be: How do you distinguish between soundpools that are licensed for non-commercial use and the ones for which you own the commercial license through the in-app store? This would indeed not be displayed to you within the Music Maker soundpool manager or in the store section, as far as I can see. So, if you need to verify this information, you'd need to do so either by referencing the in-app store order confirmation e-mails that you get after each Music Maker in-app store purchase, or by logging into Producer Planet (http://producerplanet.com) with your MAGIX account and looking up the details for each soundpool purchase in your list of purchased content. Is it necessary to do this if one is merely "upgrading" to the commercial version by buying the commercial/professional licence? Hi Jeff, Definitely not. Just to confirm (what you probably already knew to be true): The commercial licensing procedure is just about meeting legal requirements. Carrying out the purchase process for the pro license is all you need to do that. There's no need to actually download and install the files from Producer Planet or Catooh, if you already have the files installed from the non-commercial version of the soundpool. This is especially true in the current incarnation of Music Maker and the in-app store system, now that you already have the chance to get the files for the non-commercial soundpools in CD-quality WAV format. (This may have been a different story in the past, when Music Maker would only have come with lossy compressed OGG Vorbies copies of the bundled, non-commercial soundpools, and acquiring the commercial license from Catooh would have given you the high-quality WAV files later on. Some users may have been tempted to rebuild their entire song based on the WAV files to benefit from the potential advantage in audio quality....) Cheers!

Repeat downloading of soundpools
@ralftaro MMM 2020 Upgrade von MMM2019 auf Version 28.0.1.19 (Deutsche Version) Bei mir werden ebenfalls immer wieder die gleichen Soundpools zum download angeboten, obwohl diese bereits aktuell sind. Download, Installation - alles gut. Nach Beendigung und Neustart werden diese erneut und immer wieder angeboten. Daraufhin habe ich das Forum geforstet und siehe da - ich bin nicht alleine mit diesem Problem! Lösung schien es zu sein in den Programmeinstellungen die Optionen "Store aufräumen" und "Soundpool neu einlesen" zu verwenden. hat erst gut ausgehen. Allerdings nicht sehr lange und das Problem tauchte nach dem Neustart schon wieder auf... bin jetzt mit meinem Latein am Ende... Vorschläge? Wie oben erwähnt, beschäftigen wir uns aktuell gerade mit einer genaueren Analyse der Ursache, die bei einigen Userns wiederholt zu diesem Problem führt. Dazu sind allerdings einige Daten aus der Music Maker Installation nötig (Soundpool Datenbank/Cache Datei, sowieso gecachte Daten aus dem In-App Store System). Ich empfehle daher den Kontakt zu unserem Support-Team. Reinstall of music maker
Hi Lubomir, Any in-app store purchases are credited to the MAGIX user account that you use to sign into the Music Maker store. It doesn't matter whether you used one of the credits/slots (yielded by the paid-for editions) or real currency to pay for the item, or whether the item was credited to you directly as a consequence of redeeming e.g. a "Premium" edition (which sometimes comes with bonus features such as third-party effect plug-ins or now SOUND FORGE Audio Studio 12). It's all recorded in your account. This means: If you reinstall Music Maker on a new system, you simply need to log back into your MAGIX user account via the in-app store system, and Music Maker will know what features, instruments, soundpools etc. you own, and you'll be able to download/install the content again. MusicMaker 2020 - audio recording problems - cut off
Hi John, Most everything you described above (most importantly the tail end of the recording being cut off and random loop marker positioning) seems to be pretty straightforward to replicate here. This was indeed an addition to what you focused on in the other video. I passed it on to development. The "no VSTi" reset of the track header icon and name seems to work when the track is empty, and seems to fail when there's a MIDI or audio object in the track. Passed that on as well. Cheers!

Says "Not an HD project" then crashes

Store don´t show nothing
Hi Gil, Sorry to hear this. However, in order to understand your problem and help, we will need way more information as to the specifics of this problem. I assume we're talking about a reasonably current version of MAGIX Music Maker and its in-app store system here, but this would still call for a more detailed documentation of the issue. A screenshot of the problem situation might be a good idea. If the problem is that there are just not any items listed in the store category you've chosen, is there any chance you've (accidentally) entered some term into the search field next to the store category drop-down menu that doesn't produce any hits? Hi there, Sorry, there's no such connection between these various platforms and systems. I assume on the PC you're either referring to the Windows Metro app version of Music Maker Jam, or possibly to the fully-featured MAGIX Music Maker. If it's the former, the in-app store system in there is implemented via Mircosoft. So, there's no connection to Google Play Store or to MMJ virtual currency (Beatcoins) account (which is Android + iOS only). If we're talking about MAGIX Music Maker, this interfaces with MAGIX' own in-app store system. Again, there's no connection from this to Google's platform or to Music Maker Jam's whole community and virtual currency account system. These are all completely distinct systems. There used to be a workaround solution of MAGIX Music Maker downloading and installing MMJ styles when opening a Music Maker Jam (Android) project. However, the ability to do so in a current version is pretty questionable, since compatibility between MAGIX Music Maker and Music Maker Jam is no longer a point of priority. Sorry. Hope this still sheds a little light on the situation.

Lack of sound

The title is somewhat misleading, but I understand the real problem here is with the access to or reading of those particular loops, not a general audio driver/output from the program, which would be a very different problem category. It would be interesting to have an exact quote or screenshot of the error message you're getting. Also, the exact code version of Music Maker you're running might be of interest. (You can get this from the "About..." dialog, which you can access via the "Help" menu.) Music Maker Premium Edition 2019 is crashing in Windows 10
Hi @TaSean-Grice Sorry to hear about your troubles. While future development and a conversion of Music Maker to a 64bit application might bring some performance and stability benefits, program instability should never come as an expected result of this being a 32bit version and being able to access less memory. Memory management just works differently with a 32bit application (e.g. more swapping). So, freezes/crashes might always be worth taking a closer look at. In order to troubleshoot this, the first thing you might want to narrow down here is whether we're talking about reliably reproducible issues that are always caused by the same sequence of steps, or whether we're talking about rather random freezes here.
