RE: VHS to digital via Firewire problem; MEP 2015
@AAProds@AAProds @browj2 "Low quality originals require even more effort to preserve that low quality" That's verging on an oxymoron Al! 😆 Still, I think I know what you mean, but what ever Jim saves it as it is still a transcode because the ADVC300

RE: VHS to digital via Firewire problem; MEP 2015
@Jim_H If you rendered them into an AVI format (as opposed to DV-AVI) they will be bigger. DV-AVI is 13gb/hour, whereas for example Lagarith (a lossless AVI format), is 30gb per hour. It will be better quality than a comparable DV-AVI export. In

Video does not import into MM 64 bit 2020
I have been trying to get a short video into MM 2020 Premium so I can sync/score a track to the soundpools I purchased. 1. I surf to file manager>my computer>etc. and locate the file 2. NO file imports, not even a mxv file from Movie Edit Pro,

Big AVIs-Displaying Audio Waveform
I'm doing some VHS transfers. I'm using Virtual Dub to capture my AVIs in Lagarith format. When I import them into MEP, no audio waveform is created, and there is no right-click option to create it after the file is on the timeline. These AVIs are

RE: Saving to MP4
@johnebaker @emmrecs @browj2 @Dosco OK. I think my mistake on that one. Somehow I've imported AVI files I didn't realise I'd created. I normally don't touch avi files so at present I can't remember why I created them in the first place. Obviously

Anyone captured a Zoom session?
Towards the end of a Zoom session with 17 participants last night, I impulsively opened my ageing CamStudio 2.0 and hastily started recording with no time to choose appropriate settings. (This was a virtual wine tasting, but with real wine, and as

RE: VHS Transfer and Editing Inquiry
nothing would beat Uncompressed or Lossless Lagarith if you could stick the enormous amounts of storage it would chew up to capture 3x 2hour tapes. @Scenestealer Gday Peter, Lagarith Lossless is 30gb her hour, so not a tall ask, storage-wise, these

@browj2 @hdrechsel18 @CubeAce Hi John I'll give the old DV camera a try. However, what is the advantage of that over capturing using the USB convertor directly to the computer? It gives you a cheap easy way of capturing to a lowly compressed non

RE: Exactly what kind of .mkv matroska file will Movie Edit Pro Plus MX handle?
Magix has always been a problem when it comes to mkv's and it seems Magix does not make it a priority in or care about fixing the problem since its been years. As an editor I do get a fair share of mkv's because it does a better job at compressing a

@AAProds @johnebaker @ovisopa Hi AA. Yes he did it deliberately, read his post. Hi Ovisopa. Yes I've exported as HEVC, MPEG-4 and AVI. All were OK. Longest conversion took 17 secs. I wonder if you have other video codecs on your machine other than

@CubeAce Hi Ray . . . . what the developers aims are but suspect the speed increase is down to them getting ready for more mainstream 8K output . . . . Both MEP and VPX already support 8K (7680 x 4320) in the project settings, import and export -

@Mark-Trahan Hi . . . . very few also allow you to sharpen a blurry picture. AVS Video Editor has it and interestingly, ConvertXtoDVD also has a very good 'sharpen' feature. . . . I don't know if any of the Magix video programs have that feature .

Actually I have not had an issue with MEP 2019 or 2020 importing or exporting H265 - I was also referring to XP 11 with the update version I listed - XP 10 and early XP 11 releases worked fine as well - XP 10 was slow to encode but read H265
