RE: How can I convert movie made in 2006 with BUP, VOB, IFO and MVD files?
@lauriemessage Your screen shots appear to be 2 X Data CD'S or DVD's from a back up set from MEP that covers 12 or more discs so it is possible that there are copies of you original video files somewhere in the set. What format were the video clips

RE: Framesize settings for Video 8/Hi8 capture - both in 4:3 and 16:9
@shgrude I assume Camcorders work on the same principle as DSLRs. In which case a 16:9 ratio is a digital crop of the 4:3 sensor. So in effect less photosites are recorded from in the 16:9 image so the top and bottom are effectively gone. The only

RE: Frame size for export.
@browj2 Hi John I think you mean "Don't digitise at 720 AND don't then use Size/Position to fill the 16:9 frame - but it's OK to do it if your raw material is 1440x1080". My old Super 8 films pass the test, but my newer Hi 8 and 8mm camcorder files

I have been using Magix Movie Edit Pro Plus (current version 18.0.3.261 (UPD3)) for more than 3 years. Until now, I have been able to import MP4-files to the timeline and edit them. But now the program says that I need the MPEG-4-Codec, and asks if

RE: VHS to digital via Firewire problem; MEP 2015
@Jim_H The ADVC-300 will be a much more capable DV converter than your camcorder. It has controls for adjusting many video variables such as contrast, saturation, hue. I would therefore remove your camcorder from the chain completely and just use

RE: VHS to digital via Firewire problem; MEP 2015
You were right. I didn't have the AV->DV turned on in the camcorder. I got the feed from the VCR through the camcorder with no problem into MEP, and could record. However, when I hooked up the ADVC300 between the VCR and the camcorder, MEP didn't
