  @Mavericks Don't use compressed audio files like MP3. If you do, make sure you enable to always proxy compressed file formats in the program preferences.

  What format file type are on the timeline? If there are of the lossy type (MP3, AAC, ect), enable "Always proxy compressed formats" in "Options> Preferences> General" Otherwise, try experimenting with a different record buffer setting.
