RE: JPG as reference / handle updated JPGs
@tobice Hi Tobice. The possible reason John and I work a different way is we both possibly work from raw files rather than jpegs. To keep re-editing a jpg would mean a loss of definition as each copy is re-compressed on each saving and old

RE: JPG as reference / handle updated JPGs
@CubeAce Hi Ray . . . . Why? it's already there. . . . . Importing a second time should show the modified version - however this is not what I see in VPX12 or MEP 2021. This looks like a project cache update issue or delay when changes are made to

RE: JPG as reference / handle updated JPGs
@johnebaker Hi John. Try the following with MEP and VPX - do not play the timeline at any point in the sequence below or close VPX 11: Import an image onto the timeline in VPX. Edit it using the right click Edit in external editor, save

RE: JPG as reference / handle updated JPGs
@browj2 @johnebaker @tobice Hi all. OK, I don't have VPX 12, I'm on VPX 11 where that still works. So I tried MEP 2021 and you are correct but I found another way but not sure if it is usable to any of you or what I've actually done and if what I

RE: JPG as reference / handle updated JPGs
@CubeAce Hi Ray, Nope, it doesn't work in VPX12. I even navigated to a subfolder, played an image, went back to the main folder and the image had changed in the Media Pool, but not upon playback, either in the Media Pool or on the timeline. I even

RE: Corrupted Videos
@Matthew-Coates @CubeAce @johnebaker Hi A bit of googling brings up a DEC 2018 article that probably explains why the files don't play. There are several .mov types that use a JPEG codec - Photo JPEG and Motion JPEG B which he states Quicktime 7

RE: How to use masking, scaling, effects and transitions for VHS quality
@johny_lovin_it Also, how do you capture a still image of the video? In timeline view, put the Play marker on the frame you want to export as a still image and then: File>Export Movie>Single Frame as BMP or JPEG.

Ok, thanks guys. I have to say straight away, I'm a real novice at this and not sure much of what you've said makes sense; BUT I think I've managed to find my system info and post it into a signature (I hope). I also downloaded mediainfo. I wasn't

The file is not from another site. The jpeg file is located on my desktop. Attached is a preview sample, from another program, that if your mouse hover over the cake, the picture of the guy drinking appears; and you can make the object any size

RE: Editing an inserted still image
Thanks Peter - I tried that, but I don't get the option to do that. The "Export" method mentioned above seems to be working for me. Just to give you an idea why I'm doing this: I have several videos I'm working with, that contain people I don't have

RE: Video not showing in preview
@PMNC, @CubeAce Hi . . . . You need to have a version of QuickTime installed on the computer to work with mov. files. . . . . This is only necessary if the video is JPEG encoded, h.264/AVC encoded video in the MOV container file does not need

@jonboy834 Hi . . . . a Canon DSLR MVI_xxxx file is actually a Motion JPEG/H.264 encoded video in an MP4 container - but may have an .AVI or .MOV extension . . . . Correct. Acronyms can be a pain - especially if the area they are used is not within

John EB: So, in summary, a Canon DSLR MVI_xxxx file is actually a Motion JPEG/H.264 encoded video in an MP4 container - but may have an .AVI or .MOV extension . . . Now that is easy to understand - for some - but beyond me! Glad this is just a hobby!

RE: [Resolved]Align audio with video/audio track not working for me..
Interestingly, if I create a new video file and use the same video/audio and audio track and do the selection of the audio tracks, when I right click for align, it simply works. Doing the same within my video project doesn't work. There is nothing
