[Solved] Upgraded from 12.6 to 17 -- MM2025 Doesn't link to it.

As above. I got offered to install Sound Forge Audio Studio 17, which I have done... However, MM 2025 still openes 12.6 when using the 'edit in external' option under the 'Effects' tab. Uninstalling 12.6 just ends up with a message saying that

@Ron-Burton You might need to select and apply the ASIO driver of the interface in the program preferences. Make sure to enable microphone access in the Windows security settings otherwise Windows will block audio recording for security reasons.

Vegas (Magix) is another option for music production which has a substantial DAW built in which can be used for music production and Sound Forge or another audio editing app can be integrated within. Vegas does not support MIDI instruments

It seems to be working now. I was able to change from Primary Sound Driver to Speaker on the audio playback tab in Program Settings>Audio/Midi after it had defaulted to Direct sound. Once that was selected it allowed me to select Music Maker Asio

@AAProds, Thanks for your feedback. We can probably rule out Window versions. In fact, you have an older Win10 machine with MEP2021, MMS2023 and VPX12. It would be interesting to see if any of these editors can play this file with audio. Like @Gid,

Hi, I have recorded some guitar tracks via my Steinburg UR22C audio interface and can see a sound has been made on the track bar but cannot hear any sound when i try to playback the sound I have recorded, it does work when I unplug the audio
