Hi @pingu and welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users forum I would also recommend a more recent version. Unlike most legacy Sound Forge and Vegas versions, SF-5 is not even available to download from the Magix service center. FWIW, SF-5 was the

RE: Sound Forge 12 - MP3 Not recognized!
Have your tried re-setting SF to the factory default settings (though II am not sure Pro12 or AS has this. You could also try uninstalling Sound Forge with a third-party uninstaller that can remove leftover register entries, folders and other

RE: Sound Forge Pro 14 - Instant Actions Window
The 'deep thinkers' at Magix chose the Instant Access items... they cannot changed or customized, which makes it pretty much useless .. in my opinion. That's unfortunate. The most interesting new feature isn't so exciting after all. Oh well. Sorry

RE: Silence when applying plug in chain
ISIO audio device drivers are known to cause problems with some plug-ins. I do not have any IK Multimedia or Eventide plugs. My iZotope, Plug-in Alliance, Waves and most others, preview and render w/o issue with Classic Wave or Sound Mapper drivers.

Having K-lite installed with Sound Forge and/or Vegas is not a good idea. As I stated.. post a MediaInfo report and/or one of the files on a file sharing site. Many folks use HandBrake to transcode files to a compatible format for SF and Vegas.

Welcome to the Magix Sound Forge user forum @hinsley. The maximum bitrate for the MP3 audio codec is 320kbs. Constant bit rate (CBR) is best for web streaming. The AAC codec (.mp4 / .m4a) is another format to consider. It is lossy like MP3 but

Try using the Plug-in chainer in "Fx Favorites> "Apply Plug-in Chain" mode. That has the legacy UI with the 'Preview' and execute (OK). The timeline Plug-in chainer is always active and only writes the data with Save or Save as. Regardless, the

Vegas is very intuitive for audio folks, in fact, it was originally an audio-only multi-track (DAW) application before a video option was added in version 3. It integrates with Sound Forge nicely as well.
