  @AAProds I think for DV you need a FireWire input on your computer. But this connection is so old that computers no longer include it. If I remember it correctly my old laptop from 2006 and had a FireWire input. Not sure if there are any DV capture

  “Could Not Select Device”
  Just wondering if anyone can help me. I keep getting an error message when I try to record DV tape via a firewire (iLink) connection. The message read “Could Not Select Device”, if I pull out the firewire lead a touch then push it back in the camera

  @Johnny-Hansen Johnny, Firewire and the DV codec is pretty basic stuff and unless VideoEasy itself won't run on Win 10 (I'd be surprised if it didn't), the issue will be elsewhere. Could we have some more details about your new "digital camera".

  @johnebaker an i-Link to RCA, and S-video connector, if present. John, in the interests of accuracy, that is not an "ilink" connector; it is a proprietary analogue connector. The "ilink" term is used for a Firewire connection. 😉

  @renroy-b You can transfer the videos digitally via FireWire (but this usually works only with old computers which have such a connection) or via an USB S-Video/Cinch-Videograbber which converts the analog video signal to a digital signal. Install

  @AAProds I tried you new file but it would not import as MKV or MP4. I'm using MMS2024 and VPX16. You must have something installed on your computer that allows you to import the file as an mp4. Your suggestion to @Gra_Ham to recapture his video's

  @Karen-Scott @emmrecs I've just tested a DV camera on Video Easy 7 and it will pick up the camera and record the video OK (black screen while recording but the transfer come out OK). I think the issue will be as Jeff says: a Firewire driver problem.
