  @ItsMeTho Please don't install codec packs. To my knowledge this interferes with the codecs that come with Sound Forge or other multimedia software. For example, there are a lot of talks in this forum where codec packs were the culprit in errors

  You likely need an AAC codec. I always installed 'Quicktime Alt' or 'Quicktime Lite' when I needed a AAC codec.First though you could try changing the file's extension to .mp4 and see if that works. btw, welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users

  @norman-r HI The HVEC codec only becomes available on purchase of the full product, due licensing conditions, basically it has to be registered, for Magix to pay the licencing fee to the Licensor. HTH John EBForum Moderator
