RE: VHS Transfer and Editing Inquiry
@hdrechsel18 Make sure you purchase the version specifically for Magix products and the install will "know" exactly where to put all the necessary files (including at least one in the Magic .vfx folder). Then, when you next open MEP or VPX it will

VXF Clock for VPX and MEP
There is a VXF clock available from: http://www.hlinke.de/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=de:clockdisplay_vfx Translate it to see the instructions. I tried it in VPX and works great. There are a lot of parameters to play with and different size clocks. See

RE: 36 Hours of Testing MEP Pre Settings For Playback and Export. Part II
@CubeAce @johnebaker @pmikep @emmrecs Ray you just said:- The settings within MEP for the nvidia card deal only with playback within MEP, they have no impact on exporting. But in part one you said, after my comment where I said "are you saying your

RE: Is my result a typical benchmark? (UHD 630 HW encode)
@Craigster Hi Thanks for sharing your impressive analysis and tabulation of your encoding tests using many different settings in VPX. A lot of work has gone on there! I am still digesting your findings and trying to draw some parallels with my own

RE: 36 Hours of Testing MEP Premier Settings For Playback and Export.
Hi Ray Just for information sake I have Both monitors running separately. One to each GPU. Likewise. Do you have the Desk Top extended across the two monitors as John and I have? What do you mean when you say you "Start" MEP on the Nvidia or

@johnebaker Hi John That is interesting thanks for the confirmations. I only have a static wallpaper picture on both monitors but interesting how you again see activity in both GPU's. The info from Magix support about the Windows graphic settings

RE: 36 Hours of Testing MEP Premier Settings For Playback and Export.
It was interesting to hear that, even with all his Horsepower, the movie stutters on Ray's machine from the Timeline too. (I found that changing back to the wave audio driver helped a little bit with that. I wonder if it's a PCI bus

RE: 36 Hours of Testing MEP Premier Settings For Playback and Export.
@Scenestealer @pmikep I have no idea why my setup behaves the way it does regarding which monitor MEP is being used on. Both monitors were bought at the same time. Same make and model. I'm not computer savvy enough to know if it is a motherboard /

@pmikep Does anyone know if Magix stays on top of stuff like this and uses the latest Intel Instruction sets when it can? From May 2018 MEP Update history:- AVX optimizations for internal image processing and 3-way color correction make image

RE: 36 Hours of Testing MEP Premier Settings For Playback and Export.
Interesting. Peter's CPU is as fast as Ray's, clock-wise. But only 4 core. (Altho HT'd.) So I'm thinking almost even in the CPU Department. I would be curious to know from Ray if all his cores go to 100% during that one effect in the middle of the

RE: 36 Hours of Testing MEP Premier Settings For Playback and Export.
@pmikep Some thoughts on benchmark videos: I don't have the patience to wait for a 15 minute decode, especially since MEP doesn't report the Elapsed Time after the video is done. I tend to agree that Ray's project is not ideal as a standard but

RE: 36 Hours of Testing MEP Premier Settings For Playback and Export.
Okay, final results: (Update: All with Win10 Graphic Settings set to the UHD for MEP.) Best time was with Nvidia set as Display Monitor, no VFX on GPU =18:16 Then same, but with VFX on GPU =22:18. Slower. So calculating VFX on GPU here made things

Yeah, saw that. First pass with Nvidia as Display Monitor, no VFX on GPU=18:16. Am now trying with FX on GPU. And will do same two tests using UHD as Monitor.

@CubeAce Hi Ray This time I got what has turned out to be my best export time 0f 15.01 minutes from the 2minute 21.5 second project. This was with only the calculate VFX on GPU un-ticked but still have Nvidia set for display settings. Well that

@Scenestealer Hi Peter. Taking your last point first. Both were in use when I got the lowest export times. I've no idea why but with one or the other not ticked the export times were slower. I am now getting even more confused while trying to setup

RE: 36 Hours of Testing MEP Premier Settings For Playback and Export.
Hi All My view is that the drive speed discussion is a dead duck - using my example: a 400MB file encoded over 2 minutes means that it is writing to the export drive at about 3MB / sec so what drive would have a problem with that! I agree with John

@CubeAce @johnebaker All tests were done in MEP19.0.1.23. I have had a close scrutiny of the picture after exporting (zooming the Preview monitor to 800x approx.), comparing Balanced against Best encoding quality in HEVC and H.264, and can reiterate

@CubeAce @johnebaker I feel like I have done 36 hours of testing on this one myself! I created a 2min project using 8x crossfaded AVCHD 1080 50P clips from a Panasonic and Sony camera and encoded H.264.mts and HEVC .MP4 at the same res. and frame
